Getting around Villers-Bretonneux

Hi, I was just wondering how easy it is to get around the town of Villers-Bretonneux. We will be coming from Belgium by train and arriving at Villers-Bretonneux station. Is it easy to walk around or should we hire a car?

Barges on the river Oise?

There used to be plenty of commercial river traffic passing through Compiegne. Is it still as busy these days? Barge spotting is a very interesting pastime!

Does anyone know if any of the relics at St Jacques Abby/Church relate to the Carmelites of Compiegne. I am researching the family "Soiron" who lived in Compiegne. Any information would be appreciated.
