Are there taxis waiting at San Giovanni Train Station in Como?

My parents are arriving by train to San Giovanni. Are there taxis waiting there or do you have to call for one? They are going to near Hotel Posta. Does anyone know how much that costs? Do italian taxis use meters? Thanks!
