Hi, I am due to be travelling around South America next month and part of the itnerary means flying into Montevideo and then travelling from there to Buenos Aires via Colonia (2nd week of March). We intend to catch the bus to Colonia and spend a few hours sightseeing, before then catching the boat the final part of the journey to B.A. However, as the 3 of us will be travelling with all of our luggage then we don't really want to have to drag it around Colonia.... does anyone know if there's a place to store luggage safely for a few hours? Alternatively, is it possible to check-in our luggage for the boat in advance of actually getting on the boat? I've read that if you're going from B.A. to Montevideo, then you can store it for free in the bus terminal prior to catching the bus... but I hadn't managed to find anything that confirms you can do a similar thing when going in the opposite direction. Any advice or other similar suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, Darren

I was in BSAS 2 weeks ago and made the trip to Colonia, it was pouring rain so we ducked in a Parilla right off the little park square across from the church and just a few doors down from the antique cars. Does anyone know the name of the restaurant? I am not a drinker at all, hadn't had a drink since I was 21 , and Im 47. But had the most wonderful wine there... it was Pueblo del Sol, and it was a rose... I would like to find out how to purchase it?

We would like to have a leisurely lunch at La Florida during our day trip to Colonia. Does anyone know if La Florida is open on Mondays in December? If so, what are the opening hours and should we book ahead? Thank you!

Who in colonia makes or sells outdoor wooden patio tables and chairs?

We are planning to spend a Tuesday in mid November in Colonia before returning our rental car in Montevideo and catching our flight to Buenos Aires on Wednesday. After reading my travel books, it looks like everything is closed on Tuesdays. Will it be worth for us to go on a Tuesday? I don't think another day will be an option for us. Thanks for your help.

I am trying to make reservations for 4 people to depart Colonia for BA in January 2010 and I can't go any farther than the web page after I select "outbound only". Does anyone have any information to help me complete the reservation? We have heard that due to the time of year we need to make reservations in advance. I appreciate any help you can give me. Hi All - I was in Colonia del Sacremento last week - awesome town. I was looking through some of the stores and came upon a painting that I fell in love with. I went down the street to mull the purchase and get a drink and when I got back to the store it was closed for the afternoon and I had to catch the ferry back to Buenos Aires. I would like to call or email the store in regards to the painting but can't find it on the net. It is called Taller Acosta and is located in the Plaza Mayor. ANY help is greatly appreciated.

Hi there, I was thinking about visiting Colonia as a day trip from Buenos Aires via the "fast" Buquebus. Probably taking the 11:15AM boat and coming back on the 5:30pm boat. Is this enough time or should I try to take the 8:45am boat to have a little more time? Do you need to purchase the tickets in advance or do you just show up at the port? thanks! Carlos

Hi, I'm going to Uruguay in this September and I'd like to know if there is any bus that goes direct to Punta del Leste from Colonia. I'll be in Buenos Aires, and planning a 1-day trip to Uruguay and just want to go to Colonia and Punta del Leste, avoiding Montevideo. Hi!!! I´m planning a trip to Argentina and Uruguay on July. I´m planning to stay 3 and 1/2 days in Uruguay (1 in Colonia and the rest in Montevideo). I´ll spend the first days in Argentina, so I´m planning to take the ferry from Buenos Aires to Colonia. My question is: What is the best option? To sleep in Colonia 1 day or just spend the day there and go to Montevideo in the end of the day? Hi Was wanting to get to Colonia for the day and wanted to know the difference in price between the hydrofoil (1 hour) and the ferry (3 hours). InUS if possible. We only want to go for the day. Would 4 hours be enough time in Colonia? Or do we need 6?

Hi Guys, Urgently Needed Help, we will be arriving in B.A. on August 15 and going to make a transfer directly to Colonia once we arrive at the airport.
