Has anyone ever stayed at either Posada del Virrey or Posada Plaza Mayor? My fiance and I are considering staying at one of these two hotels while in uruguay for one night on our honeymoon. Any recommendations?
I spent two days at the Plaza Mayor. The place is really nice, and the rooms open on a central small garden, with a morisc fountain. The garden is so very well maintained that it is a pleasure to seat there, it smells fantastic during the warm afternoons in summer. And the rumours of the falling water, a pleasure. Excellent breakfast. Another small garden to the back of the hotel, facing the water across the back street. Very well located. They have a web page.
