Taxi Service from Airport to Hilton Colombo

by karimi1 Online Now Aug 17, 2011 at 5:03 AM

I would appreciate if anyone can recommend a good taxi service (with AC) for a trip from International airport to Hilton Colombo. We are a party of 3, and not looking for airport shuttle service that stops at multiple hotels, Thanks

As far as i remember when i went to columbo airport to send one of my friend in international airport you will find counter to book ur taxi once u come out finishing customs and immigration and you can not take local taxi from airport as foreigner and you have to book from this counter only. and i think its all about negotiation at the end.And particulary before getting on taxi better talk about total trip including A/C.it will be easy to find hilton and in wont be more than 3000 srilankan money that will come around 30.

Airport shuttles are only available to specific hotels, e.g. Taj Airport Garden. You could ask Hilton to arrange a pick up. They have better cars, but likely more expensive than a taxi from the 2-3 counters at the airport. A taxi from the airport counter should cost approx. LKR 2,500 (USD 25) to Hilton.

That is what I call a rip off! unless it is a return transfer.
