Weather in Colombo

Hi, Am looking to travel to Colombo & Beruwela from Aug 31 to Sept 4, how is the weather usually during that time of the year? Does it rain so bad that it makes no sense to make a plan for then? Really look forward to some responses soon, as I have to close out bookings. Thanks

    Hi there, Generally one can expect nice 'west monsoon' weather, quite different from e.g. the Indian/Bangladeshi monsoon. Nice sunny mornings, some clouds later in the day, and the odd heavy shower also after 4 PM. The sea is not swimsafe due to currents however, except where protected by reefs which starts 90 mins south of Beruwala. All the best, & [Sandya]
