I'm planning to visit Lisbon , and I'd like to try the Zipline connects Spain and Portugal from Alcoutim to the other side of the river to Spain.
So anybody knows how to reach there to Alcoutim ? and if anyone also knows anything about that zipline connecting them.
Thanks in advance :)
We (2 people in their 20s) will be going to Sao Miguel in a week. We don't have a driving license and want to use public transport as much as possible. I found a lot of interesting places on the bus map but there is one place I can't find - the Lagoa do Fogo. Is there a bus stop within walking distance to it? Even if we have to walk 1 hour that would still bring us closer.
We will staying at the Bahia Palace in Agua Alta. I read that there's a hiking trail from the hotel to Lagoa do Fogo from there but it takes 4 hours.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
My name is Irina Kostareva, I'm editor of the Russian travel magazine "Afisha World". Now we are making a list of interesting places in Lisbon from locals. I think you have a favorite place in the city. Could you tell me about only one your favorite place in Lisbon? I need some places (one place from one person) as museums, shops, cafes, parks…
flying into Porto from ponta Delgado and out of Lisbon. I already have the last 3 nights booked in Lisbon at grapes and bites ( pretty excited) planning on a couple nights in Porto. have books, have internet, have info on Douro valley stuff, but not sure how to spend those days in between. no car here, have one for five days on sau Miguel. I really do not think after the Azores we need beach stuff. (we tend to like the warm water anyway) wine and port, well yes. history and ruins, yes. beautiful scenery..yes. organized tours not so much unless very low key. Anthony bourdain about to come on tv on Lisbon! yes I know 1000 people have pages on Portugal. most of all vt pages are boring facts I can get out of a book. I am sure there are great ones but not necessarily the top ones or what I want.the questions actually gave me the most honest answers.
Hi! I am doing a cycling tour through Europe and will fly home from Faro. I am looking for a cool, chilled out, surfy place to stay within about 100km of Faro airport... I will probably be on my own; so would like to relax, unwind, swim, surf a bit and eat in nice restaurants and recover after, hopefully an epic cycle! I am not too keen on full-on tourist towns and would love to be near local people, towns and sights... If you can recommend an actual hotel/rental in the town area, I would greatly appreciate it...
Simple, clean place, self catering, near enough to the beach and amenities..
Thank you for reading!
ps: I will be arriving in Faro around the 10th-15th of August...so I am a bit worried that everything will be booked up!
I'm coming to Lisbon in mid June. I heard that Lisbon is the most beautiful city, but I also want to see other places in Portugal.
My flight is to Lisbon and I'll be landing at 19:30 PM, so I'm thinking to stay in Lisbon for this night. and after I have 7 full days, so this is my plan, tell me if it's good or should I change anything:
Day 1 - train from Lisbon-oriente in the morning to Porto (if I take the 7:00 AM train or even 6:09 is it safe to walk alone to oriente?) and staying at a hotel in Porto for the night.
Day 2 - A bit more of Porto, and then a train to aveiro (I was in Venice, they say it's "little venice") and after another train to Lisbon. from now on each day I stay in Lisbon for the nights.
Day 3 - exploring Lisbon
Day 4 - exploring Lisbon
Day 5 - train to Sintra, cabo da roca and Cascais (can I combine all 3 or even add estoril on the same day??)
Day 6 - train to Obidos and back to Lisbon
Day 7 - Another day in Lisbon
Is that doable and a good plan?? Are the trains cheap (for example, how much would it cost to go from Lisbon to Porto both ways?) Is there a 10 strip card or anything to make it cheaper?
Also, I understand that Bairro Alto is the place in Lisbon for the nights. Do you think that it's better to search an hotel there or is it far from center? I saw a cheap hotel in Baixa district... is it center/safe area? Can I go from there to Bairro Alto by walk each night?
Looking for your answers, Thanks in advance!
