The way they've got the transfer arranged in Cleveland has always confounded me: the train gets in at 6am, there is a station for the small Lakeshore Line next to the Amtrak station (which no one uses anyway), but the Lakeshore Line does not start running until about 8am. Maybe it's to give cabs more money. The most direct route from the train station to Tower City (the closest Red Line station) is not walkable because of walls and railroad tracks. You need to walk east, through the parking lot, take the elevator or stairs to the E 9th bridge, follow that to Superior, then right to Tower City. This is roughly 1.25 miles.
