homasassa from clearwater

I'm staying in Clearwater in May and would like to drive further afield. I like the look of the Manitee reserve at Homasassa. It looks to be about 60 miles on the map, but the road is what we in the UK would call an A road, which means that there are stops. How long should it take and is it worth going?

Just so you know that US 19 is actually considered a 4 or 6 lane highway. Perhaps the other poster means 2 lanes on your side of the road. From Clearwater thru Spring Hill is is 6 lanes with many stops at traffic lights along the way. After Weeki Wachee at Spring Hill it is 4 lane, but rural in Nature and only a few lights to Homasassa. Time could be about 1 1/2 hours if not at rush hour for workers. The State park at Homasassa is worth seeing. I live in winter 3 miles from 19 in Spring Hill. The underground Mermaid show at Weeki Wachee is also worth seeing and it is next to Highway 19. It is now a Florida State Park. Plan on 3-4 hours at each venue.
