January in Clearwater! Any suggestions?

Hi, We've decided on a mid January mini vacation to Clearwater Beach. We like the beach and ours is darn cold! (Virginia Beach area, Chesapeake Bay and the oceanfront) We'd like to do some shelling, possibly at Sanibel Island for a day trip? We have no idea if all the attractions, cruises, snorkeling etc run in January, do they? How about Pier 60. They say it goes on all year, is it good? Thanks so much! :) Meenie

I live in Dunedin, which is just north of Clw. Florida attractions are pretty much open year round. if the weather is cold, you may possibly be the only one at that attraction, but odds good that it will be open to accomadate you. Pier 60 is open all year, as well. Enjoy.
