I will be on a cruise next year and list of ports say Quito (Manta). As this will be my first visit to this part of the world when I started a bit of research it seems the 2 places are about 10 travelling hours apart and as the ship is only in port for a total of 12 hours this does not seem correct. Are there 2 towns called Manta? Obviously on such a short visit I would like to see as much as possible in the time allowed and not spend the time travelling on a bus. Am I better just spending the time in Quito?
Anyone know where to find "Melaza" in Quito? I've asked at Supermaxi but they told me to look at where they sell animal feed. In English it is Molasses, and I want some to make recipes that originate from home but can't find it anywhere. Help please!
I'm just wondering if anyone knows the real cause of death of these two on July 21. We were in Chugchilán on the 22, when the bodies were found. However, all I can find is a newspaper article from July 26, saying they aren't sure how the two died. One theory is a rockslide, but the man's pockets were turned inside out. If anyone knows for sure, I'd appreciate you passing it on. Thanks, Jnette
