Hi, I am hoping to catch the night bus to Puno from Santiago. My flight leaves gets in at noon and I hear the bus usually departs around 8-ish. Is it possible to store my bags somewhere, see a bit of the city and get to the bus station without too much of a hassle? I could stay one night but eager to head south. Thanks, E.
You aren't going to Puno if you are going south from Santiago, maybe Pucón? Take an airport bus to one of the bus stations, Terminal Santiago will have the most buses going south. Terminal Alameda is across the side street. Both at metro station Universidad de Chile. Buy your ticket right away. If you are coming this month buses are pretty full. Leave your luggage in the "custodia" in the bus station. You will be on line 1 of the metro which will take you anywhere you want to in town to see sights.

I agree with the above commenter. Are you aware that Pucon is nearly 800 km to the south of Santiago? Pucon is quite a touristy place and has a beautiful being in the Patagonia Lake district. There is also skiing in the area.
