I will be in Radauti, Romania for about 2 weeks in May. I would like to get to Chernivitsi as my family is from that city and environs. I would only have one day or so, the rest would be involved with work activities. What would be the best way to travel? Are there guides in Chernivitsi I could arrange to hire in advance?
Romania-Ukraine transport connection became quite complicated after Ukranians had to get Romania visa. Previously there were a lot of minibuses and buses running from Suceava to Chernivtsi and etc., but as of now (as I know) all of them are dead or not regular. So my guess, you have to options: a) hitchhike or hire taxi from somewhere near Siret to the border b) use the only regular connection Sofia-Kiev train (Vadul Siret-Chernivtsi 3:10pm-6:16pm or the same train starts from Suceava Nord at 1:30pm)
