Sitar Lessons & concerts

Hello, Will be in Chennai for a few days early Feb. Wondered if there would be the opprtunity to attend a musical concert whilst there and if so where to look? Also my partner is now coming on the trip and is keen on learning to play the sitar so I wondered if there were any music teachers or classes where he could have a one off lesson? Also can anyone recommend a good shop selling reasonably priced musical instruments? I know he'd like to buy some Indian instruments too. Many thanks, Cherry
