We(Myself and 14yo son) are trying to live Paris just for the day and visit Epernay or Reims. We always take tours(Viator), but I don't want just taste Champagne...we want to see a beautiful town, eat lunch and walk around. I read about those two towns and many people like Epernay over Reims. We will take a train from Paris, so we need to be in a town that we can walk around without a car. I am also wondering how many hours would be necessary to walk around each city. One more thing...it will be in December...some places are not to charming in December..is it even worth it? Please let me know. Thanks

Hi, My wife and I will be visiting Reims and Epernay in November. We'd like to see a couple of the larger houses in Reims and then get out to the smaller houses in Epernay. However, we don't want to do a organized tour nor do we want to drive. Is it possible to take public transportation to some of the other houses?

Can anyone tell me when the 20 km run through Epernay will be in 2013. How does one register for the event?

Visiting Epernay in September, is it easy to go visiting the different cellars on foot or do I need to rent a car/taxi to get around?

Hi travellers Am I right in reading there are no weekend tours in cellars offered for weekend if I'm there first week of June 2011? Is there a Dom Perignon tour at Moet or is that somewhere different? Is it worth to buy there or cheaper elsewhere?

i will be travelling to reims from disney. 1. can anyone tell me how to get there? and how do i travel from reims to epernay? 2. is epernay is the best place i can spend a nite to travel at vineyard and learn about champagne? 3. will maily champagne make a better place? 4. im on public transport. how do i go around to the vineyard and dine? is there any train or busses? 5. is there any arranged ground tour in reims or epernay? do i need to book in advance? im bringing my 1 and half yr old baby along...im all confused now... please advise...

If coming to Reims as a day trip from Paris, should arriving around 10:00 a.m and departing at 5:00 p.m. be enought time to see the cathedral, at least one champagne tour and walking around town a bit?

Are there any taxis to reims from the champagne aredenne train station?

There seems to be many champagne-houses in Reims. And some of them have tours,you can join. If we would visit one, which one would you suggest us to choose? -It should be possible to visit without booking ahead (because we don´t know the time when we could visit) -It should have an English tour.(We like those tours with info about champagne-making) -It should be open on saturday And of course,it wouldn´t hurt,if there is a tasting-(I guess most of them have it) and we haven´t never tasted champagne!!! I mean we have tasted cava and prosecco, but not champagne. In cava and prosecco we choose usually semi-dry or sometimes dry.Not those VERY dry or sweet ones. We have visited port-wine caves in Porto (and we don´t even like port..) and many brewerys,whiskey-"factory",some winery.. But we haven´t seen any place with any kind of sparkling wine.

my husband & i will be in France next summer and want to spend a weekend in Amsterdam and about 5 days in Reims. we had wanted to catch a train from Amsterdam to Reims and then return to Paris by train from Reims but there doesn't appear to be a traiin from Amsterdam to Reims that I can find. Any suggestions?

My friend and I are travelling to Epernay from Paris on Friday June 26th in the morning and have appointments at two wineries (Champagne Jacquesson in Dizy and Champagne Barnaut in Bouzy) at 10:00 and 15:00; we were going to have lunch at Bistro 7 in between and explore a little. However, I can't find a car to rent from the Epernay train station for the day. Does anyone know of a car service that would drive us for the day? Or should we rent a car in Paris and just drive the entire way? I'm nervous about driving in Paris... Thanks so much!

How long will it take to get from Ave de Champagne in Epernay to Chateau les Crayeres in Reims on a Monday at about 12:30pm by taxi and what would an "approxiamte" fare be?? Thanks!

Hello to everyone, I need your help. We are traveling to Paris in May and want to use one of the days we have to travel outside of Paris. I would love to visit the region of Champagne and do some wine/champagne tour/tastings. Can anyone suggest the best city to travel to in the region? Hi all, I know I've read there is a train from Paris to Epernay and I've even seen the rail map showing this but every time I search for one I get no results. Is there really a train that one can take from Paris to Epernay? And if anyone knows does a Eurail pass cover this? Thanks for any and all help!

In August we are camping in a place called CHALONS-EN-CHAMPAGNE (MARNE) . Apparently it is a 4 star site according to a travel book we have, but there is no website. Has anyone stayed here? If so is it ok. It is a municipal campsite. Any info will be gratefully received.
