Bus from Suvarnabhumi to Khaosan at night

      Bangkok Apr 6, 2015 at 6:21 PM

I'll arrive at 12:30 am. Is it possible to take the bus to somewhere close to Khaosan road at this late hours? I'm guessing taxi would be too expensive from the airport at night

I'm planning to go to Kanchanaburi and I would like to do the Death Railway + Golden Buddha - Krasae Cave + Sai Yok Nai falls + Sai Yok Yai Falls (stay one night at raft house + bamboo rafting) without a tour!

Does anyone know what would be the best route to take?
      - arriving Kanchanaburi, next day do the death railway + Golden Buddha - Krasae Cave + Sai Yok Nai falls + return for 1 more night in Kanchanaburi and next day go to Sai Yok Yai Falls (stay one night at raft house + bamboo rafting)
      OR
      - one night in Kanchanaburi next day death railway + Golden Buddha - Krasae Cave + Sai Yok Nai falls and continue to Sai Yok Yai Falls (stay one night at raft house + bamboo rafting)

Also: is there conections between the two falls? and anyone know how long does it take from Sai Yok Yai to Bangkok?

      Thanks!!

      Bangkok Mar 26, 2015 at 9:18 PM

Hello I am planning on spending 4 or 5 days May (7-10) in Bangkok taking pictures of people, culture and the goings on of the streets. I went to China Town before and really enjoyed it. I plan to visit it again and have some questions. I was thinking about staying in China Town to cut down on the commute. This way I could stay out at night and not worry about danger. Is this necessary? It seems that China Town is far from other attractions. The other question I have is can you recommend any other places that are very unique to the area, (not really interested in temples). Something that a westerner would never see. Also is there a better area to stay that is centrally located. Unfortunately I am recovering from a bad accident and although I can walk it is still difficult to walk extensively. Basically I do not want to add any extra walking if I do not have to. Thanks for your help.

      Cheapest food options

      Bangkok Apr 6, 2015 at 10:20 AM

What would be the cheapest way to eat while in Bangkok? I'm looking for things that are less than 30 baht per meal. Would it be better to shop at markets and buying bulkier foods(fruits, veggies,& meats)? Or purchase smaller meals from street vendors? I need the absolute cheapest options. If you list some of the cheapest food and the prices I would appreciate it, I'm not a picky eater at all. Thanks in advance.

      Cha-Am Hotels

by e_mycroft Online Now Dec 25, 2014 at 9:39 AM

Anyone stayed in Cha-Am recently? There's so many hotels I don't know where to start! We need somewhere near to the beach and near to a choice of restaurants, but quiet overnight, about £35-£40 for a double.

I've been looking at the Golden Guesthouse, which is incredibly cheap (700Bt) but gets very good reviews, all bar one that says it's next to or above some very noisy late night bars; anyone stayed there?

    • 2-3 month rental of apartment..

by Oulund Online Now Sep 26, 2014 at 3:47 AM

It is probably a bit too early to ask for help in regards to renting an apartment 2 month in advance but I will try anyway. I am thinking of spending 2-3 month in Cha-Am or somewhere by the sea starting at the end of November. I am looking for a place that cost around 6.000 B pr. Month. The best thing will probably be to search and find when I arrive. I am sure most of you will tell me same thing. I just do like to plan a bit ahead as I will have to work from day one. This brings me to my first question. My work is through an internet connection. I will need to send and receive heavy files and make phone calls. Is hi-speed connection available in apartments in general and are they stable? My working hours will be between 2 pm and 11 pm. For this reason I am also looking for a quiet place. It would also be nice to be located not too far from the beach/sea. Is all of my wishes at all possible? I would really appreciate if someone would take a few minutes to give me a response. Maybe even a few suggestions… All the best to all of you!

by keefos Online Now Aug 16, 2009 at 11:30 AM

There used to be a few places where you could get food drink and a massage, on the beach, just along from the Regent Hotel.
When we stayed at the Regent in 2005 & 2007, we used to regularly visit one of these.
Unfortunately when we went again earlier this year, they were not there anymore.

The ladies that worked there were very friendly, and we all got on really well with them. We can remember the names of two of them - they were called Ruby and Pen.
We will be back in the area next April, and are wondering if anybody knows where they are now working?

      1. How do I identify a fast train or slow train when I board the train at Hua Lamphong Railway Station?

      2. What are the timing intervals for trains or buses leaving from Bangkok to Cha-am? The internet links provided at your posting are invalid

      Hi there,

I've just seen a really good deal to Cha-am. I have been to Thailand before but just Bangkok and Koh Samui. What's Cha-am like? I'll be going with my fiance, we enjoy chilling out on nice peaceful beaches, snorkelling as well as exploring the local area by car or foot.

Can anyone give me any info on Cha-am? Is it important to stay in a particular area? Also, is there a good time of year to go?

Thank you so much... Sally x
