I'm flying out to Ibiza on 14th June 2014 solo for a week. Anybody gonna be there???? I'm 28 male and I've been out 3 times before so I know the script but I could do with some drinking partners to curb the billy no mates boredom. Or yeh I'm stopping in the heart of San An; overlooking the marina and the infamous egg, that's about it peeps.....
Hi, We are planning to walk the Camino from Sarria to Santiago in April 2014. Everything I am finding says that the only way to get to Sarria is to fly into Santiago, then take the bus backtracking to Sarria. We don't want to backtrack or to see Santiago until we walk into it. So, what are other ways to get to Sarria? We can fly to Madrid and take the train??? Fly into somewhere else and take the train or bus??? We just don't want to backtrack. Thank you!!
I was on the 09:20 Barcelona to Paris TGV Duplex last Monday (16 December 2013) - only its 2nd day of operation. Spanish TV news crews were everywhere...
Very smooth, very fast, and into Paris 3 minutes early.
The easiest place to buy tickets is at www.capitainetrain.com or www.loco2.com (which can also book you through to or from London or any British station) as the official French Railways website has an annoying tendency to divert you to rail Europe, where there's no seating choice. I strongly recommend an upper deck seat for the best views.
Fares start at €59 in 2nd class, €99 in 1st class. You normally simply print your own ticket.
There's no WiFi, but the train has power sockets at all seats, a cafe-bar, toilets & luggage space both upstairs and downstairs. You're free to bring your own food, wine or beer on board, or you can buy from the bar car.
It's quite a scenic run - past snow-capped 2,784m high Mt Canigou at the southern end of the Pyrenees (which was visible from just before Girona all the way to Perpignan), past the 15th century Fort de Salses just east of Perpignan, along the Mediterranean coast, past many étangs (lakes) with colonies of flamingos feeding on one leg in the shallows, over the River Orb then right past Béziers' hilltop cathedral, then up the Rhone Valley past pretty villages and even the odd castle. It was a very clear day on Monday so I could see the high French Alps far to the east as well as the dark ridge of the Massif central to the west.
I then hopped on the 18:13 Eurostar back to London.
Subject to confirmation, they plan to double Paris-Barcelona TGV service to 4 trains a day in each direction from 31 March 2014.
There are also now Spanish AVE high-speed trains linking Barcelona with Toulouse, Carcassone, Marseille, Lyon, these too will be increased, and a Barcelona to Geneva TGV added, from 31 March.
I am looking for an apartment to rent in the centre of La Cala for one month between 11 July - 20th August 2014. It must be in the centre due to walking difficulties and should sleep between 4-6. if anyone knows a place can they get in touch please.
I am looking for suggestions. My friend was supposed to travel with me but has had to back out. Where in Spain is good for NYE? I did BCN last year and was surprised that it seemed there was little to do. Would love a market / fair and possibly some music...prefer to be outside versus a club. Any thoughts?
We're planning to stay in Las Palmas for a week over New Year. Two questions:
1) What part of the city is the best place to stay in? I assume it will be too cold to actually go swimming, but maybe it's still a good idea to stay close to Las Canteras? Basically, we want to stay in an active neighborhood, with lots of people moving around both day and night (restaurants, bars, and shopping). Is the old town better? Or somewhere else?
2) What does people do on New Years eve? Are there any gala dinners, big parties etc we can sign up for?
Greetinigs: I MEAN the large city of Valencia, not a small town with the name Valencia in Galicia. There was a mix-up here with the two locations. Does anybody know what USUALLY are the dates for corrida in the city of Valencia in month of July?? How could I buy a ticket in advance?
Hope to hear from locals or frequent visitors. Thank you guys!
I will be traveling in Europe around the Easter period and at that particular weekend I have to chose whether to spend easter in France (Provence), Barcelona or Madrid.
I am worried that the public holidays will effect what will be open and my experience there. Has anyone been in any of the cities for Easter? A city with fun events happening could be fun as well.
Do tourist attractions and shops close on Easter though? Supermarkets? Or public transport (eurail)?
What place would have the best options for activities on the public holidays?
Any answers or insight on these questions would be great! Thanks x
Greetings to Valencianos:
I am planning to visit Valencia, Madrid and Salamanca in 2014. I need to know what the dates are for the bullfight season in VALENCIA for 2014. I missed it by a few days in Malaga in 2012 and this time I will plan my trip according to the corrida schedule. I could not find this particular info anywhere and I hope that locals or frequent visitors would help. Thank you. I understand Spanish so it's OK if you give your answer in Spanish.
Hi everyone, I am searching for a 2 bedroom apartment to rent or 9 or 10 nights at the start of July 2014.
We are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids, who will be 5 and 2. We plan to hire a car or day trips etc but we want to be close to restaurants etc so that we can walk to dinner in the evening and have a drink with our dinner.
Is there anyone here that has an apartment to rent?
Thanks a mill!
I need to get from Granada town centre to the bus station for the 07.00 bus to Malaga Airport. Is there a local bus that runs early enough? Or will I be able to find taxis in the town centre early in the morning around 06.15?
Could someone recommend a hotel within walking distance (with rolling suitcase) to Trapsatur's bus terminal on Calle San Bernardo #7?? We will be taking a few tours from there and try to avoid having to take a taxi each time. Thanks for any info!
We are spending a week at christmas in Matagorda and some friends have booked to stay in Costa Teguise. Will we be able to walk to them or will we need to get a taxi, and if so do you know roughly how much it will cost? And if the taxis run on Christmas Day?
