We wish to go back in Carmel we visited quickly 4 years ago. Could you advice us a hotel located in the city of Carmel by the Sea which is both comfortable and affordable ? We search especially in Carmel and not in Monterey we foresee to visit from Carmel. Thanks RAY
I can recommend the Highlands Inn in the city of Carmel. When you are in Carmel, be sure to drive south about 25 miles to Big Sur and have lunch at Nepenthe. Or better yet, stay at the Ventana Inn in Big Sur. http://www.highlands-inn.com/ http://www.ventanainn.com/

If you're looking to be economical, I think there are better bargains in Monterey than Carmel which is fairly pricey. I agree that you must have a meal at Nepenthe on the Coast Rd. at Big Sur!
