We are heading to Guatemala; Antigua Guatemala (2 days) and Lake Atitlan (staying in San Pedro la Laguna for 7 days) in early 2014. Any suggestions of places we should not miss? While we will primarily be there to participate in a photography workshop, we should have enough time to poke around and will be looking for things to see and place to eat.
Is it possible for a tourist to open a bank account in Grenada. We have a problem with the ATMs in Grenada and we are staying here 3 months.
We thought if we opened a bank account then we could have money transferred to this account and so have money readily available for our daily living.
Earlier this year last February, I was able to use any ATM machine in Grenada and Carriacou. I came back a few days ago and no ATM will accept my debit card with the Plus signet although its the same card. Thank you for your answer.
Are there any tours to visit Chortis village?
HI - I know that there is not a lot of these in Nicaragua. I am currently in Granada, I have visited the San Francisco museum and will visit Mimuseo when it reopens on Tuesday; I am still figuring out how to get to Ometepe without a car. To see the archeological site there is it better to leave from Rivas or Granada? I have seen that there are a few things in Esteli and I read a really interesting but ten years old article - reproduced many times but there is no followup I can find - about this important site near Kurkra Hill (Bluefields) on the coast. After 2003 there does not seem to be any information about continuing research, or visits. It is certainly not on the tourist route! Any information or ideas are appreciated. Thanks, Jean
I looked to book the resort on 12/2/13. Some family stuff side tracked me that evening so i went on line the next day and it rose $1,000.00 over night. does anyone know if the price will decline back to where it was or even closer. any help would be great.
I'm visiting St Kitts and Nevis in January for a friends wedding. We're staying for just under two weeks and have paid for flights and accommodation, however I'm just trying to plan how much spending money in dollars I will need roughly for the trip, whether that be per day or in total.
Has anyone got any suggestions?
Hi. How far is the downtown from the Bavaro Beach hotels, and are there are a lot of bars there?
How is the weather like in past days because we are coming to punta cana on December 8 for ten days and I read on the internet that's it's going to rain so please answer this if it was raining in past couple days thanks
Is it possible to just go out in a boat and just fish? Not heavy duty fishing, but 'leisure' fishing...
My girlfriend and I are looking to go some where on the Pacific side of Costa Rica. Here is what we are looking for:
Nice beaches, jungle/nature - ability to do excursions, see monkeys, hike and so on. We don't want something so secluded that there is nothing to do at night but we don't need to be in the middle of a big city... About 6 years ago I was in Puerto Viejo, looking for something like that but hopefully with some better beaches. Please give suggestions for towns/areas and any accommodations. Thank you from Alaska
hey is it a crazy idea to take my 5 year old son? He would love the beach and hiking and animals. but would we be targets for mischief?
My boyfriend and I are headed out to San Juan Dec. 11 2013. We're only there for a wk. but are on a tight budget. Any recomendations on where to stay? Also is it worth it to rent a car and drive to the rainforest vs. doing a tour?
When already in Cuba having a room for whole stay, I would like to know if it is possible to call and book an other room for one night stay in another city (and is it maybe the most expensive way comparing to advance booking)? We would not like to do that beforehand, not knowing when making those trips.... I have understood by internet it is impossible while alreaydy in Cuba?
What are some of the best dive shops/locations in Puerto Rico?
What is the beach like here? What can you tell me about this resort?
Has anyone stayed at this hotel? Pros and cons?
Hi, I was wondering if anybody knows if there are busses from La Romana to SD and back. If so, how much it costs, if there is any schedule where we could look up times and how often it runs and can wee book it upfront? Does the bus stop close to main sights?Thank you. Tereza
Im trying to find a reputable steel band who will come to the docks when our cruise ship docks next March 25th 2014 and play Happy Brithday to a very special person. Its his 70th and 9 of us are all his guests on the cruise. Any ideas please?
We will be in Costa Rica for 2 weeks between the end of January and the beginning of February.
We tried to plan a bit the itinerary and we came to this:
1: First night in San Jose, we will arrive late in the evening.
2:Organized trip to Tortuguero (it is maybe good to have something organized for the first days since we will have some jet-lag problems...).
3: Back to San Jose and flight to Puerto Jimenez (if we do not manage to fly the same evening, we will sleep in San Jose and take a plane the next morning).
4: La Leona ecolodge
5: Walk to Sirena
6: Walk back to La Leona
7 e 8: Rent a car and spend the two days on the coast to Puntarenas.
9: Arrive in Puntarenas, take a ferry to Playa Naranjo, and drive to Samara.
10 e 11: two nights at Villa Baula.
12 e 13: Poas volcano.
14: Back to San Jose, and then back home the next morning at 7.00!
- What do you think about our itinerary? Should we "move" some night somewhere else?
We are wondering if we should spend one more night at Sirena and one less at Poas.
- Corcovado tour: we asked at La Leona ecolodge and they can organize a guide for us for 120 $/day for the walk to Sirena. It is quite a lot... Can maybe someone recommend to us a "private" guide? Would it be cheaper?
- Always for Corcovado: do we really need boots?
- Car rental: What is the best option for a car rental, assuming that we are at La Leona?(Where? Which company?) La Leona suggested us: toyotarent, alamocostarica, solidcarrental.
- 2 days on the coast (7 and 8): some advice? What are the best places to visit? Where to stay?
It should be all for the moment...
Thanks a lot!
4 of us want to go to the Dominican Republic in February. I have been trying to research the country.
We would like to see some of the culture and history, but at the same time want to be at an all-inclusive on a nice beach. Trouble is that every time I think I have found a nice place, I read reviews that say don't stay there. Does anyone have any recommendations about a nice, clean, place that will facilitate access to daytrips to Santo Domingo? What is the best way to go - tour, buses, guides? Thanks for any help

What are the best hotels. Looking for a beach, ocean view from room, want a stove/refrigerator, gambling-restaurant-bars-fitness centers on site. Walking distance to shops/eateries/etc. Would need a low priced car rental for a week. Any help?
