I am trying to book accomodation in cardiff for the weekend of the 20th may to the 22nd and i am finding it very difficult with everywhere booked up due to it being heineken cup weekend. There will be between 15-20 of us travelling over for the games but have yet to find a place to stay. So if anybody could let me know of hotel, pub, apartments, guesthouses around the city centre that would be great. We would be open to splitting up into smaller groups if needs be. All suggestions are welcome. Thanks Sean.
It is indeed very busy in Cardiff and immediate surrounding area (e.g. Barry, Penarth). I can find very little availability for your dates on sites such as www.booking.com, www.laterooms.com , www.lastminute.com nor for holiday apartments. You might consider staying in Caerphilly, Newport, even Bristol or Weston-super-Mare (1.5 hours by train). Chances are you'd still have to split up, but you could take the train into Cardiff for the matches.

You could also try Merthyr TYdfil. The Premier Inn at Pentrebach 2-3 miles south of the town is close to the railway station on thye Cardiff line - premierinn.com/en/hotel/MERP...

If that is also fully booked you could try these in Merthyr- http://www.tregennahotel.co.uk/ A short walk from the town centre and ,rail and bus stations. http://www.castlehotelwales.com/ - Right in the centre of town. Relatives stayed here a couple of years ago for a wedding in the area. Good Luck.

Check out the Tourist Information Centre in Porthcawl or Bridgend 01656 786639 or 01656 654906 as Porthcawl and Bridgend are just 20 minutes away from Cardiff. There is a rail station at Bridgend and the day return ticket is around £5 or less if travelling after 9am. And as an added advantage, accommodation is cheaper than in Cardiff. Have a great times
