Indie clubs in Cardiff

by Boosan Online Now Mar 29, 2005 at 7:30 AM

Help, this is the fourth time I've visited Cardiff and as of yet I've been unable to locate a decent bar/club in Cardiff playing Indie/Rock tunes.

Anyone fill me in with the details of decent bars and any clubs...???

Cheers

Im not a frequenter of the clubs myself, but i do have a couple of suggestions for you.

Bar Fly is at the very top of Queen Street (the main shopping stip in Cardiff)opposite Cardiff Castle and next to Lloyds TSB. I believe there are lots of live acts in that club. http://www.barflyclub.com/

Clwb Ifor Bach is situated in Womanby Street which is a little lane opposite the Castle. if you head for Wetherspoons The Gatekeeper on Westgate Street and ask for the back entrance you should find it. When you go out of the Gatekeeper at the back head left and its on the right hand side. Blink, though, and you'll miss it. http://www.clwb.net/

Theres also Metro's which is off St Mary's Street but difficult to find if you dont know where it is. check out the website which has a map!! http://www.clubmetropolitan.com/

    hope this helps :o)

    enjoy!
