Peru: SIM card for mobile phone

      Peru Sep 15, 2015 at 11:00 AM

Will be in Peru next week and plan to take my unlocked Android GSM phone, and plan to get a Movistar SIM card + S/.30 credit in Lima. I am now led to believe that registering the SIM can take up to a week in Peru. Since I will be there for two weeks only this could be a problem. (1) Is this true or can they instantaneously register it (with my US passport, of course). (2) If it can in fact take that long is there a way to shorten the period? Has anybody registered a SIM in peru within the last 1-2 years? Thanks.

      Hey guys!

This will be my first trip to Peru, and I will be visiting my husband's siblings, and I was thinking of buying some gifts from USA, but I don't know what products or candies I can bring that it's not sold in M&M's, Doritos, Cheetos for example!

Hey I was wondering if anyone knew what the best way to get from Huaraz to Caraz I've heard of Taxis and colectivos, but will they run on Sundays & how reliable are they. I'm looking to get off the bus in Huaraz and head off to Caraz as fast as possible. Any thoughts?
