We wish to do a walking tour with a good tour guide in Cape Town. We found Blue Monkey Tours very good, however, they are very pricey. Does anyone know of any other options? Any suggestions on good tours would be appreciated.

Seetha
Hi,
We were planning on staying at Cape Town for 3 nights in June. There are 5 of us and we are not sure whats the best place to stay. I was hoping to get a villa for our family. There are websites like Villas in CapeTown and CapeVilla. Are they good ? My biggest worry is whether they are as good as the websites show them to be ?
Have anyone stayed at Villas in Cape Town and could you suggest me few? My budget is somewhere between R1700 to R2200 per night.
Thanks!
Is there a public transportation to
1) "Wijnland Auto Museum" in Joostenberg Vlakte and
2) "Franschhoek Motor Museum" in Franschhoek ?
both seem to be on the same way more or less and the only way to get to "Franschhoek Motor Museum" in Franschhoek seems to be a bus-daytour from Kapstadt to the Franschhoek-vinyards?
BUT will the motormuseum be next to the wine-tasting ??

How much could it be to hire a taxi for lets say 6-8 hours to get me there ?
We will be in Cape Town for 5 nights. We are a family of four(couple and teenaged boys) We wish to see the city center, Southern suburbs andTable Mountains, Atlantic Sea Board, Blaauwberg Coast, Peninsula and if possible Helderberg. Which area should we keep as a base? We would be entering CT through the Garden route. Thank you for your time, Seetha
Hello, I'm doing an overland trip starting in Cape Town and ending in Nairobi with Oasis Overland in 2 months time, and they are now asking me if I require airport transfer and first night's accommodation. The cost for the transfer is 18 pounds, the cost of the night in a 4-bed dorm at their recommended hostel (The BackPack) is 19 pounds. I'm seeing on google maps that the hostel is 20km away from the airport, and that booking the hostel myself is the same as their rate. My question is, is their airport transfer good value? I would have thought it would be a bit lower to go just 20kms... But then again I've never been to Cape Town. Can you please let me know what you think? Thank you very much in advance, Leon
We are going to South Africa in May to visit Cape Town and then We are driving from Johannesburg to Krugar and people keep saying to us that we must be mad - it is too dangerous. Now seriously worried about this - is it really that dangerous. We wont be driving at night and will have a GPS in the car. Would appreciate any positive advice please.
We are a small golf society who will be in Cape Town for 6 days in March and I am looking for some advice on good quality restaurants and bars that cater for the over 30's. If you have any tips it would be greatly appreciated
Hey there, A friend and I are planning a volunteer trip to S.A (the placement is in Cape Town) We will be volunteering for two weeks, then off to adventure around the eastern cape of S.A and eventually to Johannesburg, where we will be meeting up with some friends. My question is, approximately how long will it take to go around the Cape and reach Jo'burg? We wanted to visit every major city along the way (Port Elizabeth, Durban, etc.) and also stop in some national parks, of course. Also, what would be your recommendation for overland travel? Bus or train? Is hitchhiking something that is often done? (I know there are a lot of naysayers on this website in terms of safety in South Africa)I also know a lot of this depends on mode of transportation, I just wanted a general idea of the distance.
Hello there is a possibility I might get to go to Cape Town this time next year, taking my then 4 1/2 yr old and 2 year old. We would plan to go up and down table mountain via cable car, but is it safe on top to walk around taking in the view, like are there railings and things like that? There would be four adults total and the two children so lots of adult supervision. Also, I have seen there are day trips from Cape Town to game reserves, for a safari in a 4x4 vehicle. Does anyone know if young children are allowed on these tours? Thanks
Hi There, We are planning to visit Cape Town and surroundings’ (8 days) and Jo'berg for (3-4 days) We are planning to arrive in Jo'berg end of October and after 3-4 days head to Cape Town for 8 days and fly out of the Cape back to London. We like cultural things, local food, visit nature reserves and to get as much as a local flare of the place!! Questions 1. Generally what’s the weather like? 2. Should we fly from Jo'berg or rent a car and drive? 3. What’s the safety factor like (I know the world media is notorious for making a place look like a war zone when actually it’s quite okay) Thanks ER

Hi, I will be visiting Cape Town for 3 days in the middle of Oct. I want to take the ambience of the city in by touring various places such as Robben island, beach where the penguins are, Table mountain etc. I want to get the experience through the folks who live there. I am interested in history, culture, epicurean, and most importantly to learn how people live in the city. I would not mind joining a group of individuals visiting the city. Please advise

Hi, My husband and I have a chance to take a tour to South Africa from October 23, 2012 through November 5, 2012. This tour will include Cape Town, Kruger Park and Hluhluwe Game Reserve in Zululand. Is this a good time of the year to see game at these parks? We hope to be able to see the Big Five. This would be the main purpose of this trip though, we are looking forward to our visit to Cape Town. What will the weather be like in these areas? Will it be hot and humid? Will there be much rain? This is the only date this tour operator has open for 2012. If we don't make this tour date, we will have to wait until 2013. Should we go or wait? Thanks
Hi all, we land in Cape Town at 16:25 on May 13th. Which just happens to be the final day of the English Premier League, my question is twofold (A) does anyone know what time that will be in the UK? I think SA will be only one hour ahead by then, but some sites say 2 and others say 3 and (B) is English football shown anywhere in Cape Town? Probably the airport if SA is only one hour ahead?

Hi My birthday is on a monday. What hot spots in cape town can i celebrate at ? date : 20 Feb time: from 6pm
We will be in Cape Town for 3 days at the end of January. We will be renting a car and would like to see some wild life animal park and also visit wine country. Any recommendations or suggestions are appreciated. We have not booked a hotel yet so are open to staying in Cape Town and doing day trips or traveling to the specific location. If touring wine country we would rather not be driving so are interested in a tour or staying at a wine country location which does not require driving. Thanks for any suggestions or recommendations.
Hi All, My name is Brittany, and I will be visiting Cape Town for 2 days and 3 nights in February before heading to Joburg for an MBA class. Unfortunately my friends backed out at the last minute and I am now visitng on my own. I'm not interested in dating anyone/ and I really hope my post doesn't attract the wrong type of attention. I'm 27 and just looking for friends who would be interested in seeing the sights with me (trying surfing, hiking/ visiting Table Mtn & Cape Pt, city tour?, wine country, and perhaps a visit to Long Street in the evenings)?
Does anyone have any ideas of what to do for New Year's Eve in CT. My girlfriend and I are a vibrant couple in our late 20's who loves to have fun and dance. Does anyone have any suggestions on a great place(romantic) for dinner and also a place for a NYE party?

I'm looking to hire an SUV or 4x4 that seats 7 people (one with a third row) but I haven't been able to find one ANYWHERE. I found a few companies but they only offer limited km options, but I need an unlimited km option because I am traveling to Namibia. Also, I'm 22 and a lot of places won't rent unless the driver is 25 - highly irritating as I've had a valid driver's licence for almost 7 years. Any suggestions? Thanks.
