I have seen pictures and this hike looks amazing! But unfortunately I can't find a lot of information about the length or level of difficulty of the hike. Our time in Interlaken is very limited so I want to do as much of the planning now as I can so we don't waste any time. We will be there the first week in June.

I understand that there is a facility where you can check in your baggage one day in advance and get your boarding pass from selected Train Stations in Switzerland.
I along with my husband will be flying out from Zurich in June with Swiss Airlines. I wish to know what are the charges for advance check in facility. Charges are as per number of passengers or number of baggage.

      Hello!
We would like to go to Jungfrau on Saturday 1st June due to an special offer for Spanish people but with this offer is compulsary to make the reservation on-line and then print the tickets in paper (it is not possible to buy the tickets at the station).
We have contacted the hotel but they have told us it is not possible to do it at the hotel.
As weather predictions can vary a lot from one day to another, it is complicated to reserve it before leaving home.
So, could anybody inform us about if there is any place at Interlaken where we could book and print the tickets or how could we solve the problem?

How would the trail be this week, considering still only mod-April. Do not want a steep climb etc. Should we expect closures in the trail or the village. Zermatt Mar 4, 2011 at 4:22 PM

I was in Zermatt in September 2009 and in one of the souvenir stores, we saw a ceramic cow that was all painted out like a clown. It had a big red nose & all sorts of colourful clothes. It had orange & white striped socks and different coloured boots on - very cute! It also had little twisted horns (green & grey stripes). From memory it was approx 20-25cm long. We loved it & regret that we didn't buy it at the time. I was hoping that someone may know what I am talking about or someone from the store that has it may see this. If anyone has seen it or could let me know what store it was in, I would really really appreciate it. Thank you.

I remember arriving there in January 1984, and found representatives of various places at the station offering well priced accommodation. Is this still the case, or have things altered in the last 25 years? :)

    • Need advice for 4 days trip to Zermatt and Interlaken

      Zermatt Jan 15, 2010 at 3:56 PM

After reading this forum for couple of hours I still could not find all answers to my questions, so if someone could give me an advice I would greatly appreciate it. I’m traveling with my wife (mid age, both very active) in mid May and planning to stay 2 nights in Zermatt area and 2 nights in Interlaken area. We will be driving a rental car, coming from Lake Como area, going to Zermatt, then Interlaken, then to Germany. If the transfer between these places will take approximately half day each, we are left with just 1.5 day in each place (Zermatt and Interlaken). I need some logistics, please: 1. Which scenic road to take from Como to Interlaken (or Tasch, or …)? 2. Town/village to stay for 2 days with a car. I know that cars are not allowed beyond Tasch, but still would like to use it as much as I can instead of taking trains. 3. What to do/to see afternoon on day of arrival (we love hiking) 4. Next full day – see Matterhorn! Take Gornergrat train? Kleines Matterhorn? Both? 5. Drive to Interlaken. Again which is the most scenic route? 6. Town/village to stay for 2 days with a car in Interlaken area. 7. What to do/to see afternoon on day of arrival. 8. Next full day – what to do/see (may be 2-3 hours hike)? Jungfrau? 9. And last question: for all these activities is it worth buying a Half fare card or just pay the tickets as you go? I know I asked too many questions, but even any information is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
