Hello, We are visiting Cannes for one day when our cruise ship NCL Epic calls in on 5th October 2012. We are hoping that we can just walk around and may maybe stop here and there for a cool drink or two. Any suggestions on must sees or must dos would be most welcome. Do we need to get a bus to see more or is there a 'little train'? Is it far from the cruise port to get into town? Can't wait........ thanks and regards, Alison
Hi folks, I'm travelling to Cannes from 5/AUG (sunday, I'll arrive at around 6:30 pm) to 10/AUG (thursday, I'll leave at around 10:00 am) and I was wondering if there is any garage or parking spot available for rent for that period of time. It must be near Rue d'Antibes (maximum of 300 meters from it) and it should cost no more than 60€ for that period of time. Many thanks in advance! Miguel

Last minute decision, so no planning yet.. any tips for a tourist planning to go Cannes during the annual film festival? For example: - for star spotting, will the last day/closing day be better or no difference? - when will they publish the daily film screenings (for public)? - for non-english films, will there be English subtitles? - I hear that the free films for the public are shown at night 930pm. How do I get to Fayence after that? (I am crashing over at my auntie's place during that week) - any other interesting tips for star spotting or otherwise?? Thanks!!!!

I'm told I have to buy a SIM card locally to insert into the iPad 2. I looked online and it appears that getting a card is quite difficult, requiring a French bank account and debit card, plus proof of residency. I also read somewhere that if you can get a SIM card, its about 10 Euros for the first 3 days, and then 6 Euros a day thereafter. Is there any way around this insanity? I will be in France for 2 months and would like to be able to use the iPad without jumping through hoops. I have wi-fi access, but would like to have the freedom of using a 3G connection as well. Hello, We will visiting Cannes On November 1, 2009 via cruiseline. Are most of the sights closed due to All Saints Day? Can you recommend sights to visit and transportation options (bus) for that day? Would Grasse and Gourdon be a reasonable trip from Port of Cannes? Thank you

I'm looking for suggestions for the best place to have lunch in Cannes. We'd like somewhere that's nice and serves primarily French cuisine, but no more than100/person if possible. We're only there for the day on a cruise ship excursion so it must be easy to find as we won't have a car. Any ideas?
It's possible to rent a scooter ( small moto bicke)??

Hello Cannes locals / visitors: Please could you let me know if you know any churches that are: - within easy access to an international airport (max 1h30 mins travel) - picturesque, with a minister / priest that can speak English - with hotels / apartments / gites to rent nearby - which has a great natural landscape view outside - good transportation(public and private) available in the area Thank you so much in advance!
Is there a reasonable and efficient way to travel between Cannes and Milan? The flights leave from Nice, which is OK, but all seem to have connections in third countries. The rail connections don't look any better. Suggestions will be much appreciated.
My wife and I are planning a trip to Cannes / Antibes for the last weekend of the film festival this year (2009). We will be driving and are considering staying at the Stars Antibes Hotel. I have several questions if anyone is interested in helping. 1. How much will it cost to use public transportation to get from ANtibes to the festival area in Cannes? 2. Would it be possible to drive into Cannes and park? 3. Any advice on star spotting spots in Cannes would be greatly appreciated! 4. Any Advice about the festival or the area would be greatly appreciated. Especially info on eating and avoiding being robbed by high festival prices! 5. I also found a cheap hotel near the airport in Cannes. Would this be a better location? We will be driving from Bavaria, Germany on Friday 22 and returning to Germany on Tuesday the 26th. Again any help would be greatly appreciated.
Our cruise ship will be docking in Cannes for 6 hours and we would like to see it, Nice, Eze and Monte Carlo. Is that possible to do in that amount of time and would we be better off trying to do it on our own without a tour to save some money or is it more efficient to set up a tour? How much time should we alot for each town and in what order should we try to see them? Thanks!
We are a group of 8 arriving by ship to Cannes in June. How expensive would it be to hire a taxi to take us to St Paul de Vence? I read there is no train that goes directly there. Rental cars are quite expensive to fit 8 people. Any help or suggestions I would appreciate.
In Port arriving at 10 AM till 7 PM on 4/23/09. Thinking of taking a train to St. Paul de Vence. How far is it, how long a ride, what is the cost? Where do we go when we get there (St. Paul), and what transportation would be available? We heard it's beautiful. Would welcome suggestions and any pertinent info. Thanks!!
