If coming by cruise ship into Cannes getting out of the harbor will take some time. Add the time by train to Saint Raphael, since St. Tropez does not have a station, but there is a bus link from the St Raphael station that will take you to St Tropez. By car, you are about 1 1/2 hours from Cannes to St. Tropez, add to that the getting to and from the train station and the train ride, then the bus transfer both ways and you could be looking at 4-5 hours of your day and then plan to arrive back at the ship around 45 minutes before sailing. You could be talking a total of 6 hours of the day on waiting and traveling to and from St. Tropez. Of course, if the traffic is heavy, all bets off on road transportation. You could rent a scooter or car and drive yhourselves. You could forgo St. Tropez and go to Nice by train which is only 30 minutes away. lots to do and see in Nice as well as staying right in Cannes. Good luck and smooth sailing.

I agree - St Tropez in April is simply not worth the effort it requires to get there and back so early in the season. June - August maybe, but not April. High season it is the ultimate in glamour and people-watching, but in April the footballers, models and filmstars are still busy earning a living. You have to ask - why else does the boat trip not start up until June?
