    • PINNACLES DAY TOUR 12/13 NOV 2015

      Perth Apr 12, 2015 at 5:53 AM

      Hi,

2 of us will like to go for Yanchep/Pinnacles/Lancelin day tour either 12 or 13 Nov 2015.

We are travelling on a quite tight budget coz so much to do in Perth.....

1.Anybody can suggest this day trip other than travel agents to lower cost, driving for us is quite inconvenient?
2.Anybody travelling on these days can add us or go with us to share cost?
      3.Is whale watching worth it?

Can also contact us at budgettravelbugz@gmail.com

    • Mispelt Middle Name

      Brisbane Mar 23, 2015 at 12:57 AM

I am worried as "lastminuteflights"  have mispelt my friends middle name (they missed out an "A" "Christian" instead of "Christiaan") My travel agent says I have to cancel the ticket & re-purchase another, as they cant change the name details due to Cathay Pacifics policy. Only thing is if I have to do that same ticket is now over $400 dearer, as this is Cathay Pacific's policy they say.

I contacted Cathay Pacific direct who said the travel agent has to make the name change, so don't know what to do now. They say we won't be able to travel unless another ticket is purchased, what do I do? I can't see why they just can't add an "A" onto their computer file. Will we still be able to fly with this mispelt name?

      Two Daintree Questions

We have one day to visit Daintree and Cape Tribulation from Cairns. We would like to walk in the rainforest, ride the zipline, see a cassowary, visit Mossman Gorge, walk on a nice beach, do a couple of boardwalks and see any other good sites. Can anyone do an itinerary for us that we can comfortably fit into one day? Also, is it possible to walk in the Daintree N.P. without having to pay to go on a guided tour?

Kids friendly places in Perth (animal related trip)

      Perth Apr 15, 2015 at 12:05 AM

      Hi,
We will be going to Perth from 17th to 23rd May with our 33 month old daughter.
We love animals and would like to expose our daughter to all the animal-friendly places in Perth.
We planned to go for a farmstay and maybe to see the dolphins.
Where else is nice for her to interact with animals?
Or can you suggest any toddler-friendly places?
We will be driving throughout so transport is not an issue.
All comments and answers are appreciated!
      TIA!

    • What to expect of life in Australia?

      Australia Mar 31, 2015 at 2:37 PM

      Hi to all!!
I have heard two opposite opinions about Australia as a place to live in - on one hand that it is very boring place, nothing much to do there, you can´t even swim because the waves are too high, not so much cultural life like in Europe. On the other hand others think the nature is amazing, there is always a job to find and people are nice...
So does anyone have any experience in living for a longer period in Australia? Perth, Melbourne, Sydney...?
I intend to try to enter Phd studies there and, if I like it, to stay there.
I would like to hear your arguments for both positive and negative sides.
Thank you very much in advance.

      All the best!

      Road Trip: Sydney to Brisbane

      Australia Apr 4, 2015 at 2:18 AM

We have rented a spaceships Alpha 2 Berth car for 5 days. We are planning to sleep overnight in the car for 4 days. I have several questions to ask before we are heading on the road. We are travelling on a budget, but want to stay safe and be able to take hot showers along the way.

      1) I read an itinerary from britz.com.au, sounds like a good one: or you have a better recommendation?

      Day 1
      - Terrigal
      - The Entrance
      - Newcastle
      - Port Stephens / Tomaree National Park
(Overnight at One Mile Beach Holiday Park)

      Day 2
      - Port Macquarie / Koala Hospital
      - The Sea Acres Rainforest Centre
      - Overnight at The Sundowner Breakwall Tourist Park

      Day 3
      - Coffs Harbour
      - Miniature Dutch Village
      - Overnight at Park Beach Holiday Park

      Day 4
      - Byron Bay
      - Either Mount Warning, Nightcap National Park, Broken Head Nature Reserve
      - Cape Byron
      - Overnight at North Coast Holiday Parks Clarkes Beach

      Day 5:
      - Fortitude Valley
      - ??
      - Returning the car to spaceships.

      2) The above place to stay required to pay fees between $40 - $60 per night, just to park in their property. Does the rest area or the national park allow to be parked overnight for free? Are they safe? Any recommendation?

      3) I want to see the most beautiful side of Australia, can you recommend some places I should not miss along the road trip.

      Thanks all !

Tidbinbilla National Reserve: How to Get There

by ELMinthebreeze Online Now Oct 2, 2007 at 4:06 PM

Hi everyone! My boyfriend and I will be in Canberra for 3 days approximately a week and a half from now. We would really like to spend a day in the Tidbinbilla National Reserve. However, we won't be renting a car there. (Neither of us is brave enough to take on the left side of the road!)

Do any of you know if there are any buses or trains that go out there? We'd even be willing to take a taxi, just as long as we knew they would go out there, and how much to budget for that roundtrip cab ride. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    • going to darwin?

by windlero Online Now Sep 6, 2004 at 9:39 PM

Hello, I will be returning from the Solomon Islands in October, and travelling from Canberra to Darwin by car from the 11th to around the 14th. Flying trip I know, but if you want to travel to Darwin by road and not take weeks doing so, here is your chance. Will be leaving early on the 11th and will use whatever accom available during the trip. I am a decent aussie guy who has spent the last 3 months working to help clean up the Solomon's who just wants to go home! Unfortunately my car is in Canberra. All I ask is that you help with costs and enjoy pleasant conversation.

Hi all. I'll be staying in Canberra the last two weeks of September, and will bring my camera. Do you know of any good photo sites, for nature and wildlife photography?

    • Canberra to Melbourne.... July. What route?

by Beschera Online Now Apr 25, 2004 at 2:28 PM

Note: I've posted this in the Melbourne forum as well. I will be driving from Canberra to Melbourne in July after having visited Sydney first. I was hoping to drive via Cooma on the Monaro Highway and then onto the Princes Highway. It seems as though it would be preferrable to the Hume Highway as I'd rather see more of the area instead of speeding through on a motorway. Any advice on this? I was planning on taking two days from Canberra to Melbourne. If I do take this route, any suggestions for where to spend the night midway? Where to stop enroute?, etc.? Thanks!
