I'm organising a group of 40+ persons to visit the National Gallary next month. I would like to give them the option of a pic-nic in one of Canberra's beautiful parks. I cannot remember if there is one with COVERED tables (in case of rain!!).Can anyone help? Thank you very much.
Commonwealth park near Anzac parade has, it is where the Floriade is held. I think in march, they hold the Canberra festival here, so hopefully it won't be when you are there. Canberra has so many lovely parks, I am sure there would be more with shelters.

Almost anywhere around Lake Burley Griffin is great for a picnic. Try and get a spot somewhere near the water shooting upwards as it is so spectacular. We didnt bother with undercover and just sat on a low wall overlooking the lake. You're more likely to need somewhere in the shade rather than undercover in Feb. Plenty of shade trees around the lake.
