How crowded does Cambria get in July and August? I've only been there off-season and was wondering if I would be able to get lodging on Moonstone Beach for a monday and tuesday night stay without reservations.
I think the best thing to do is just call some places and ask them. Also, most hotels have a policy that you can cancel up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival. So, you can make a reservation then cancel if your plans change.

thanks! I ask because we have always gotten a great deal by booking the day of - sort of the old-fashioned version of "hotwire," etc. However, we have since moved to NYC and are just back for a visit and would be heartbroken if we didn't get any lodging.......just wondering how risky of a gamble it is to not book something in advance.
