Hello everyone, I am going to Cairo to do an internship with UNHCR for 6 months (May 26 to December 14). I am a Canadian female student on a budget and so I am not looking for luxury or extremely high end. I just need some suggestions/advice on how to a safe, clean and close nearby apartment. I have been looking on Craigslist and it has not given me much. Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Right near where all the street protests were, near the Museum, is a neighborhood of backpacker hotels and travel agencies. Check about safety in regards to political instability, but the hotel desk clerks will probably be very helpful in arranging longer stay beyond the day or two there. Hi there, I know finding an apartment here can be really annoying, but I dont think you have to involve an agency. You can always try to find a place here - cairo.jasminehousingrevoluti... Hope that helps a little! Nicole

you didn't mention your budget, your options may be more than you think: 1- hostel of AUC ( contact them) 2- 3 and 2 star hotels in town center ( 2000-3000 egyptian pounds) 3- furnished apartments maximum 5000 egyptian pounds (minimum 1500)

Most markets carry fruit, for the bacon.....a bit tricky but I agree, Carrefour. Good luck. more
