Don't worry. Everything will be open. Cairo never sleeps. And if you are still fresh enough you could visit the pyramids on your day of arriving. If it were only for the Sound an Light show as an appetizer. It will be HOT though!! Good luck, Dora.

You could, but they are quite a distance from the airport and it will be very hot by the time you arrive in the late afternoon. It would make more sense in my opinion to go to your hotel, relax, have a nice dinner and walk around the city a bit. Meet the people, they are very friendly and welcoming. Start your sightseeing at the pyramids the next day but try to go early and avoid the mid-day heat. In July it will likely be over 100° by the afternoon, it's very similar to Arizona in the summer.

Hi Jinaal, don't worry, everything will be open in Cairo except for maybe banks. If you land in here at 1pm, keep in mind that it will take up an hour to get out of the airport and then another hour from the airport to downtown. Might be longer if traffic is bad and when you're downtown you're only halfway. If you want to see the pyramids during the day, I'd suggest you go early next day to avoid the heat. If you don't mind seeing "only" the light show and not the pyramids themselves, you could do that the same day. Enjoy your trip! Nicole
