Hi, My boyfriend and I are going to Egypt in a couple of weeks. We have very little time there, so we were thinking it might make it easier to rent a guide. I don't really want to do the "group" thing, but it would be great to have someone pick us up from the hotel and take us directly to the sites we want to see for the day. So I guess my question is... what exactly should we be looking for... a "personal guide" or "rent a taxi" or "rent a guide"? Any contacts or suggestions would be great! Thanks for your help! We had a very good cab and driver from BlueCab http://www.thebluecab.com/index.html Our driver was punctual and polite and drove us around from 12 midday until 6PM and we had previously agreed a price of EGP 190 with the owner Mohammed for our driver to stay with us and wait for us at each site.

Agree with the above, get a taxi for the day. I simply got my hotel to organise it, which probably meant they got a small ct but sav me the grief of negociting, think I paid 250 LE for 10-5. Only problem was that hewouldn't tke me all the way to the Bent Pyramid, because th road was too rough fo his nice nw car. Seemd reasonable to me, & I was happy to walk the kilometer or so
