So I've seen lots of tours online, but I've only got about two free days in Cairo and was really looking for a local, student, or someone who has some free time, to show me around their city. I'd like to visit khan el khalili and the museum, but I really want to get a good sense of the city. Since I'm on my own, the organized tors tend to be super expensive and not that unique. Anyone know of a local guide that would be interested?

We spent one week in Cairo at our own and saw a lot of things. It is not easy for non-Arab speaking but we managed with the help of internet and the wonderful Couchsurfing community there (www.couchsurfing.org). Here are our experiences with tips and tricks:
