The bus is so convenient, effecient and inexpensive. It takes about 2 hours into Cadaques from Barcelona and passes thru pretty scenery and snakes up and down the mountains as it approaches Cadaques. It may be that the bus is the most practical of all options - unless you rent a car - as the train may be in bit far away from the town, if there's such a service at all. Happy trails.

There is very infrequent bus service from Barcelona to Cadaques. Although not as convenient as a direct bus, it is usually easier to just take the train (renfe.es) to Figueres and then a local bus (sarfa.com) from Figueres to Cadaques. In Figueres the bus station is just across the street from the train station. The schedules have a link to click to english if you prefer. The train ticket from Barcelona is about 9 euros and the bus another 5.
