5 star dining questions

by Cdc1968 Online Now May 20, 2012 at 9:43 PM

Going to Cabo corridor in June. Some in our group are steadfast set on dining at resorts and their "5 star" dining options. Can someone tell me just what we are in store for per person$$ wise. Factoring in drinks and gratuity I m guessing 150 each. One night is fine...the other four I can enjoy the office, giggling marlin...etc. the rest of the trip. I just want to be prepared. Thank you. Chris

The food is going to be pretty much the same as any resort in North America, say5-20 for an appetizer,15-40 for a main course and6-15 for dessert. Wines are20-$300 or more. There is a restaurant in San Jose that I like a lot called Morgan`s, I am sure you all will like that too! Sunset da Mona Lisa is also a great option on the corridor.

I haven't eaten at many 5-star restos in Cabo, but I would think you surely wouldn't have to spend that much pp necessarily; the one I am most familiar and really like is FRIDA's at Pueblo Bonito SUNSET BEACH, which is on the Pacific side, cabosanlucasdining.com/dinin... they have a verandah as well as the indoor seating and if it is atthe right time of the month, you can see the moon rising over the Sea from your table, as well as enjoy the art of FRIDA.....you can see a review of it on my Cabo page and the above link has photos too. Probably could easily be ar100 pp w/drinks and propina. Another with which I am familiar and is supposed to be one of the best and is also on the water, but in the corridor, is PITAHAYAS at Hacienda del Mar/Sheraton and may well be closer to150pp if you go all out with wines, as I recall their list was FAB but pricey. http://www.loscabosguide.com/pitahayas/

You MUST try Edith's. It is the sister restaurant (same owner/Chef) as The office and is their high end restaurant. The plates are huge so I would recommend getting your own appetizer, then sharing a main dish with someone. Reservations are highly recommended and I promise you wont be disappointed!
