Is September really that bad?

by deedeestern Online Now Jan 12, 2012 at 9:01 AM

I can stay two weeks in Cabo using a timeshare and frequent flier miles if I go in September. Is that a really bad idea? I know there's always a chance of a Hurricane or tropical storm but going in Sept means I can go for two weeks and use my miles. I live in Minnesota. What do you think?

I live just up the road from Cabo; it's not only the chance of a hurricane, but just the heat/humidity ***AND sometimes the Pressure is what can make it miserable, especially for someone who lives in Minnesota.....I originally came from the Balto-Wash corridor, which has horrible heat and humidity and it is worse than that, in MY opinion. of course, now I am older and everyone handles it differently; if you thing that with having a pool and possible swimming and AC in your timeshare you will be able to enjoy your time sufficiently, then go for it (altho we haven't had any bad storms since 2006, so who knows WHEN the next bad season will be).

Trish lives there, I party there. Cabo San Lucas is a great location but as Trish has said heat in September can be bothersome for some, but I would say no different than the East Coast. I have a daughter in Fredrick, Maryland and I thought that their weather in September was a lot hotter and humid than Cabo. You most likely have a pool and ocean water nearby to access and the early evenings are very plesant. The Pacific Ocean side of Cabo is cooler than the Sea of Cortez side and the same goes for the humidity. As for hurricanes, very seldom do they hit Cabo, but rain can pour from these storms in September, but not for long. High season for Cabo is October through April, but that doesn't stop tourists from going from May through September. I have been twice to Cabo in September and found it to be just fine, if you like the temps. to be in the 90 F. area, with maybe, off and on rain during your two weeks, due to storms passing by. Two weeks is great and I don't think you would go far from your resort area with that much time in Cabo, to even let rain, the average is just over one inch of rain in September, bother you. I would also visit San Juan del Cabo. A very charming town with the old Mexico feel. Most shopping is done in the historic district of town around the main plaza area. I say go. Ole!
