I'm going to be in Butuan in 2011, I am meeting someone there, I have a guide lined up and I feel good about things, well so far. I still have to find a place to stay. I'm looking between the Royal Plaza and the Luxury Hotel just down the road. I know the Luxury Hotel is cheaper which I like but I get the feeling that the Royal Plaza is nicer. Has anyone stayed at the Luxury Hotel and if so how was it, is it nice, clean, safe...? How is the Royal Plaza? I really would like to know as much as I can about both! Thanks!
Almont Inland Resort is nice but you must use taxi to get to the city Almont City Hotel in not as 'resorty' but very convenient to the city

Check out the Riverside marina/bed and breakfast. Its not as nice as the "luxury" hotels... but casual and inexpensive. You should be able to find my review of it as i just added it today. Its 2 miles from Gaisanos and he offers shuttle service from the airport for like 100 peso's .. just enough to cover his gas mostly. Mike Jansen www.butuan.ws
