Not yet. However, considering the rate at which Myanmar is opening up, i expect it can't be too far in the future. Truly sad. Party tourism will be a major catalyst in destroying the place :(

Nowhere. I am happy whith that Pattaya is the worst place I have ever been. Arrived in the afternoon, stay overnight and leave in the morning... Continue to go to Pattaya.

If you want to go to Pattaya, go to Pattaya. Does it matter where you are if you are partying. At least Myanmar has so far been saved.

Personally, I have never been to Pattaya, and have no intention. Thailand has so much of interest to me, and if I wanted to party, I'd stay home

Thank goodness that there is nothing like Pattaya in Burma----not yet anyway!!!

yeah...thankfully there is still nothing like Pattaya yet in Burma. You can find beaches in Burma, but definitely not what you can find in Pattaya.

Pattaya is a complete hellhole but please do not be so naïve to think there are not similar red light night clubs in Yangon

I'm sure there is, just like anywhere in the world. Pattaya is at the extreme end though.

off course its not only party but, i mean more good beaches AND a lot of sightseeing AND nightclubs for after a busy day ;-))

The beach is harder to get to in Burma. I haven't been to any myself, it's definitely a lot quieter and less developed compare to neighbouring Thailand from what I heard from other travelers that I met in Burma. I don't think you can find much nightlife and sightseeing around the beach area.

If you want to experience all 3, go to places like Khao Lak, Kata Beach or the crazier Patong beach in Phuket, Krabi (Ao Nang or the first two beaches on Ko Lanta) or Ko Samui in Thailand.

Sorry no place like Pattaya, especially in Myanmar :)

I'm with the rest of the members on this. I have heard of one or two nightclubs in Rangoon / Yangon but that is all and they are certainly not of the Pattaya type. It is a few years since I was in Burma but everything seemed to close pretty early in the evening, no such thing as all night partying. I think I am right in saying that foreigners were not actually supposed to be outside after midnight.

If you want to combine nightclubs/bars/nightlife with the beach then Myanmar is not the place for you. Here, those don't go together yet (thank goodness. I'm like the other members here ;-) )

in Yangon there are now a few more nightclubs and bars for a 'better' nightlife but nowhere near as 'exciting' as Pattaya.

If you visit Myanmar, come for the culture. It is worth it.

If you are looking for wild beach parties, better go to Thailand. Myanmar is (so far) only for people who are looking for cultural education and a unique experience of a lifetime!
