trying to judge prices in b.a.--how much is a cup of cappucinno--average prices --thanks duncan
Hi, I had many cappucinos while living in Buenos Aires but I forgot how much they cost (2005-2006.) Just read that Take-out Coffee is all the rage there now, prices for a cappucino given at between 2 and 3 Euros (USD2.50 to 3.80) To order one, say "Para llevar" and enjoy!

Hi Duncan, I haven't been to Brazil, but a fellow VT'er shared this link that will give a rough idea of the cost of things around the world. theprofessionalhobo.com/2009... I checked it out for a few places including my own hometown and it seems to be pretty close to reality. It should help you averaging prices too. Hope this helps, Linda

The currency in Argentina is the Argentine Peso (AP). The current conversion is about 4.31 AP to a US Dollar from a site I looked at. A cup of cap. at a walk up place would run you about 12-20 AP I would guess. What surprised me about Buenos Aires is how expensive beef was in the supermarket considering how much is raised nearby. Here is a link of what you can expect to pay for various things in Buenos Aires as of mid 2010. However unlike the U.S. inflation in Argentina is very high so I would add as much as 20% to even these numbers; exposebuenosaires.com/cost-o...

HI, sO you can compare a large capuccino in starbucks here is around 4 dollars a muffin is almost 2 dollars, a combo at mc donalds or burger king is around 10 dollars (the dollar on friday got up to 4,4 (1 dollar = 4,4 pesos) so prices will soon go up) If you plan on sitting for a meal at lunch almost eveything is around 10 dollars (at downtown area any sandwich it at least 26 pesos around 6 dollars even subway)at night any meal is close to 120 pesos per person which is close to 30 dollars and that´s with one drink not including wine, with wine it should go to 170 pesos, so almost 38 dollars. Just a comment here we do not have a 18% tipping policy like in the US, so if you get a crappy service you can leave a crappy tip.
