books in Buenos Aires

by querti2011 Online Now Nov 23, 2011 at 7:23 PM

Hello, I'm from Buenos Aires and new to this forum. I study English and one of the things that I do is to watching didactic videos in this language. Teachers in those lectures suggest to read books that It's not possible to find in the local market. I was wondering if an American comes here to Bs.As, if it could be possible for that person to carry a couple of books with him/her I would pay to this person some money for helping me with this... maybe 50% of the normal price for the shipping. I try this because the shipments very often costs more than the books! Thanks in advance for any answer! Cheers!

Hi, thanks for answering. cgf: Since I didn’t know those libraries that you have mentioned I called them and I’m waiting for their answers. Unfortunately I think they don’t have these books but I tried anyway… kl1246: I'm not in a hurry I can wait without problems. The books are about Neurocience. This is the most important book that I want to buy: The Playful Brain Richard Restak, M.D. Scott Kim ISBN: 1594487774 And here it’s the link for this book in Amazon amazon.com/Playful-Brain-Sur... I’m also interested in these other two books, both are from the same author. Restak, Mozart's Brain and the Fighter Pilot. Restak, Think Smart.

Hi! I tried using the link that you said. ACME: I sent email and I'm waiting for their answer... Amer books: They no longer sell books in English, the link is old. Etytex: I forgot to send an email here. I did it one second ago and I'm waiting for their answer now. El Ateneo, nobody answer when I call. I'll try again. Estari: I don't know why but the phone is the same that ACME... Librería rodriguez: doesn't exist anymore. If you call that phone now it's a shore store. KEL EDICIONES: I sent email and I'm waiting for their answer... but I already tried searching in the searching engine and I couldn't find these books there. The other places are in other parts of the country. I can buy the books through Amazon, the reason why I don't do it directly is because the shipment is very expensive. But If I can't use other method, I'll finally buy that way, yes.

Actually I did tink to buy for you as I coming to BsAs before Xmas and I checked on amazon but the book sold at 10USD in US it would cost about 15Eur to me so I don't think it would be good I buy it for you. Anyway I'm sure if you ask a particoular book they will get it for you.

I can get all 3 books for 19.36 US. That includes shipping. I have no problem getting them and bringing them with me, if that is what you'd like to do.
