Hey, I'm not sure that's what you are lookin for, or when do you plan to visit, but at the end of may Cirque du Soleil is gonna be in the city with Alegria. Im gonna go over for it, cuz they still have some cheap tickets over there, and I wanted to visit my friends anyway. great combo:D About theatre, I dont think that you gonna find any show in english, but some operas still enjoyable in hungarian as well. But I think it is pretty good to go for a dinner with some live hungarian music, or just simply visit a concert. I hope I could help you.

I visited Budapest long ago. I didn't feel well then. so I didn't go to any of its spas. Spending some time at the city spas (these are pools with saunas etc.) would be a good idea. Have a look at some pages on Budapest. For instance Mediolatino's Budapest page. Her lives there.

Perhaps live music and hungarian cuisine? There are restaurants such as Kulacs where you can enjoy the gypsy music and local cuisine at the same time. Or you can go some of my favorite pubs such as Old Man's Pub where you can enjoy live music (rock, blues) and eat great food. Something in English for theatre or opera is quite difficult to find, but perhaps a ballet or concert in the opera would be satisfactory. You can check my Budapest page for some useful tips about the restaurants and pubs I mentioned. Enjoy Budapest :)

On the contrary to all the above. There is a prerdominantly English language theatre and cinema called Merlin, just off Deak Ferenc. They do some Hungarian stuff but there's usually either a film or theatre production in English. Here's the website - the English button is on the right. merlinszinhaz.hu/index.php?o... You'll also be able to find English language films in some of the cinemas. Then of course there's the opera where the language will depend on the current production.

An evening in one of the baths would be pleasant and relaxing. Most are open into the evening (the Szechenyi pool, for example, is open until 10pm) Info, opening times etc on all Budapest baths here; spasbudapest.com/tartalom.ph... Hover over 'all-year baths' and 'seasonal baths' to see their names and find their info.

I agree with the others - visit the spas as they are amazing. My partner and I did the Danube Dinner and Cruise with Live Music one evening and absolutely loved it. Great food and fabulous views of the city lights. See link: ticket.info.hu/en/program/di... It runs from 7pm until about 8.30pm and the meeting place is at the ticket office at the Duna Palota (Danube Palace) at No 5, Zrínyi utca, V district. We arranged our tickets through our accommodation at no extra cost and then just turned up at the meeting place at 6.30pm. After the boat docked, we walked along the waterfront and enjoyed the stunning views. There are several restaurants along the waterfront affording great views if you weren't interested in doing the boat trip and there are also night time walking tours of Budapest which are reputed to be very interesting (we didn't do any on our trip)

You can also attend an Organ Concert in the St. Stephen’s Basilica from May to October. Or you can even combine it with a cruising dinner on river Danube. Details: gotohungary.net/index.php?pr... Or you can find your own program in Funzine. It is available printed in many places, but there is also an online version of it: http://www.funzine.hu/ Another program guide site is http://www.kulturinfo.hu/ (klick the flag for English or German) Enjoy your stay in Budapest :)
