by Cristian_Uluru Online Now May 26, 2005 at 12:39 PM

Hi, next week I will visit Budapest and I'd like to see the Roman ruins of Aquincum. Can you tell which is the easiest way to reach this place? Can you suggest some good restaurant where to taste Hungarian foods? Thank you!!1 ciao

yes, take the HEV train from Batthany ter or Margit hid to Aquincum stop - you'll have to walk back a bit to the ruins. As an alternative route, from Arpad hid (metro M3) you can take bus 106 to Aquincum. The amphitheater can be reached from Timar utca HEV stop (also on the Szentendre HEV line) by a short walk or from the city center by buses 6 (from Nyugati pu.-Western Station), 60 (from Batthany ter) or 86 (from South Buda, Szent Gellert ter, Clark Adam ter, Batthany ter) by getting off at Nagyszombat utca.

Everything has been told about Aquincum :) So let's jump to the restaurant part! :) I would recommend Fatal (excellent local dishes) or Menza (trendy, but has some typical hungarian dishes as well). Check them in my tips.
