Bryce canyon with 6 and 8 year old boys

by dt89 Online Now Jul 10, 2007 at 4:52 PM

We will travel to Bryce Canyon in July of 08. Our youngest son will be too young to ride the horses into the canyon. My husband and I took the trail ride before kids and loved it. We are looking for other adventures in Bryce Canyon. My boys are good hikers and we would like information on 1/2 day hikes rated no more than "moderate". Thank you!

There are several hikes you can take. Bristlecone Pine is fairly level and short. It is a good warmup. The Loop from Navaho trail to Queens Garden will take a little longer but is the best of Bryce in the shortest amount of time.

You might also enjoy the short hike to Mossy Cave, trailhead on the way to Tropic. When we are there in the spring there is no waterfall, and ice fills the cave but I understand it is a fun, cool place in the summer.
