by nyceagle1633 Online Now May 23, 2010 at 4:01 PM

I have 7 hours in Brussels. I arrive to Brussels airport at 8 AM and leave at 6 PM. So, I figure, get on a train at 9 AM and be back at 4 PM to board my plane to Helsinki. What train do I take to get to City Center of Brussels. Please give best tips of train line I take and where do I stop. And what can I do and see for these 7 enjoyable hours. Help VTers.

Been a decade since I was there, but just walking around checking out the city architecture, the main square, manniqun pis, is all fun. Also, the Cantillon Gueze Brewery is worth a visit. Have a Rose Gambinus for me.

Try to visit the Musical Instruments Museum, if you have the time. Other than that, there's the usual sights: Grand Place, Manneken Pis and Jeanneken Pis, the Comic Strip Center, beer tasting, chocolate demonstrations (I recommend Planète Chocolat).

Indeed, take the train (not the bus as it'll take too much time and you don't have much of that) and get off the train at CENTRAL STATION. From there it's a short stroll to the places mentioned above : Grand Place, Rue du Boucher (street with many reastaurants, can be big fun), la Bourse etc etc. You have in total about 4 hours to spend and tht should more or less cover it... Enjoy !
