are there jobs in brunei for foreigners?christians in particular
I am travelling to Brunei 27th June and departing 13th July. My confirmed plans at this stage are arrival in BSB afternoon on 27th, look around BSB 27th and 28th, travel to Miri 29th, fly to Mulu 30th, return to Miri 6th. This leaves me with a week. Does anyone have any suggestions for things to do - either independently (preferable) or through a company in Brunei for this week. Relatively modest budget, single traveller and tour companies are expensive compared to other areas of Asia I have visited?
My alternatives are stay in the Miri area for a few more days and visit Lambir Hills and Niah national parks (although after 5 days in Mulu, I may be feeling like doing something different) and then just three days in Brunei before departure or the full week in Brunei.
Secondly, does anyone know of any places for snorkelling (or possibly diving) in the region.
Finally, tips for transport from Brunei (BSB) to Miri.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

In the coming days i will have a stop over in Brunei and i have heard conflicting reports regarding tours offered to transit passengers. I believe that the tours arranged at the transit lounge are either free, ( for a limited number of customers) or you have to pay for them. I believe the tour are organised by air brunei. Can anyone shed light on this?
We might move to Bandar Seri Begawan in 2013 & I would like to know if there are shops that sell art supplies like acrylic paints, canvas & specialised goods for artists? Should I ship supplies in my container? Are there import duties on art supplies shipped from abroad? Many thanks,
We are a couple going to Brunei as part of our visit to Borneo on Tuesday 28th for 16 days. We are landing in KL and fly out in 16 days. We like outdoor activities, sight seeing, bars/restaurants, culture, trekking and beaches. We are both 30 and will spend aboutUS80 a day excluding accomadation. Can anyone recommend an itinerary please for Brunei for 3 days. Where is the easiest point of entry into the country and how easy it is to cross the border for Visa. We are British citizens if it helps in relation to the question about the Visa (Visa on arrival). Thank you in advance.
I am thinking of going to Brunei from 6th April till the 9th, is it enough time to stay in Brunei? What kind of activities are available in Brunei? I am keen to play golf one of the days if possible. and are you allowed to take in any alcohols? I know Brunei does not sell alcohols and seems like the hotel bars haven't got any on the menu either.

Will I be able to find a tour when I am there or do I have to book in advance? Basically we only have 30 Dec to do this as we are only in BSB for 1 night.
We are planning to hire a car after we land in Brunei. Can anyone advice cheap realiable car hire contacts? I know of Avis only but the rates are similar to Australia. Read more: VT Forum temporarily unavailable

Hi, Next year I'll travel to Borneo whith my 8 years old son. We will be in Brunei 14-16 July, cause I was told this should be the opportunity to meet the sultan at his birthday. Can't find any information about what to expect. Anyone here who has experienced these days in Brunei? What about a place to sleep? Any suggestions? We are lowbudget-travelers.
Hi, I am planning to have a 1 day trip to Bendar Seri Bagawan. Where can I look for local tourist guide that can show us around the beautiful sites? And do you have any suggested hotels that we can stay, that are not very expensive, but safe, clean, has aircon, and water heater?
I am due to be returning to Australia from London and on the way I have an 11 hour stopover at Bandar Seri Begawan International Airport. While there on my way over I tried to connect to the wireless internet but a window kept popping up saying I needed a Wave card or something. Where at the airport do I purchase one of these? And how long do you get for how much money?
We will be arriving at the cruise port at Muara and want to catch a bus to visit the lovely city of BSB. When we arrive at Muara how easy will it be to exit the port and find a bus stop nearby? Is it far? And how often do the buses run?
Hi there, my family and I will arrive at BSB airport soon. Please advise whether we could easily take a bus from the airport terminal. We will then go from BSN to Miri. If so how frequent does the bus travel from BSB to Belait station and Belait to Miri. Can you roughly tell me how many hours it will take from BSB-Belait and Beliat to Miri. Would it be easier and faster to travel by taxi all the way to Miri?Is there a taxi stand to Miri at BSB airport terminal? And how much does it cost for a family of 4? Thank you in advance and I look forward to hearing from you guys soon.
