I would like to take a trip by train to Brugge, but would like to leave my luggage in Amsterdam so I'm not encumbered on the train. I would spend 1 night in Brugge before returning to Amsterdam to embark on a cruise. Is there a way to accomplish this.

by nayha2000 Online Now Dec 27, 2012 at 11:33 AM

Hi All! I know there are a few questions about NYE in Brugge already but I haven't found any that answer my question.. Essentially, my husband and I (both mid 30s from London originally from US) are looking for a fun place to ring in the new year in Brugge. We don't need a club or dancing and we don't need a big fancy set meal. I'm vegetarian so most of the set meals don't look appealing anyway... Any advice for a fun bar or pub where we can just drink, eat and hang out for the evening? Would really appreciate it!

Is it a good decision to spend New Year's Eve in Bruges? what opportunities are generally organized? how is the atmosphere of the city on 31st of December? I'll appreciate if you can please tell me. Best wishes,

Hi! Can anyone tell me whether the Castle ten Berghe can be visited by day trippers or is it only for guests staying overnight? If it can be visited by day trippers, is there an entrance fee and how much? Also, I read that we can catch a bus from the town center. Whereabouts from and what are the buses' number/s? Thanks!

    • 1 day in Bruges-am I trying to do too much?

by RLMVirginia Online Now Mar 26, 2012 at 3:40 PM

Hi, We-and our 10 year old- will be coming from Brussels to Bruges on Easter Monday. I have read many great reports about a guided bike tour in the morning. Do you think I will have enough time in one day to do the bike tour in the morning, and then climb the belfry, take a boat tour and see the Holy Blood and Madonna sculpture in the afternoon? Or am I trying to do too much (which I am famous for?) :) Also thinking about the crowds on Easter Monday-if it would be better to do our own thing in the morning, and maybe rent bikes for the afternoon. We are active and like to see/do things that are unique to a particular place. Not too interested in the art museums for example.

salut! Does anyone know the name of this resto in Brugge in my picture? I'm at my wits end trying to make out the name and contact the resto as I've been asked to write a review of the picture postcard city and want to mention the name. It was excellent service and food. It was just prior to getting to the canal ride area of Lake Minnewater. HELP!

by JohnnySpangles Online Now Apr 11, 2011 at 2:46 PM

Hi, My family and I will need to stay 2 nights in Brugge in August...on a budget! We'd like to spend a whole day in Brugges but I hear parking is difficult..So here's what we're after... A hotel out of town so parking is free. It needs to be a budget hotel (i.e. no more than 90 Euros per night) with family rooms i.e. one double bed and two singles Swimming pool preferably Close to public transport (train, bus) so that we can into Brugge for the day. We don't mind staying in the 'chain' type hotels as they tend to cater for families..any ideas? Regards Johnny

We would love to stay in Bruges and found a hotel (Prinsenhof)that looked perfect. HOwever it is not far from the Belfry (Belfort). The tourist information online says that the bells chimes every quarter of an hour. Does this mean they will chime throughout the night every 15 minutes? I am a light sleeper and would not be able to sleep if this is the case. Can anyone answer the question please. Regards, Val.
