Hi all, we try to reach the BVI for 2 or 3 weeks in the springtime 2013 , what is the easiest (and maybe the cheapest) way from germany (now you know the reason for my bad english) ? Atm i have found a way with air france and so on and it take 2 days and 1500 Euro per person .. Do you have a idea for a hotel (one of my dreams are the sandcastle at jost va Dyke and (of course) the soggy dollar bar :-) ??? greetings from Germany Gerd
Hey you all! During January 2012 I am going to BVI. I am citizen of EU - BVI belongs there I suppose. I have heared I need return ticket - it's something I didn't expect 'coz I have no idea how long I wanna be there - probably a few months or years. Got any of you experience with this? Can I go there just with one-way ticket? Why it is way? As next subject I am interested in living there. Can be on BVI easy life - in meaning - fishing, tearing fruits etc. with low cost. I do not want hotels etc. Just be there. Got a point? Generally - how much cost live there? With minimum expences of course. If someone can help me, I really appreciate it. Thanks a lot! “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Hi, trying to find detils of the Pub tour, we are coming to Island for day as part of cruise in December 2011
How late in the day can I fly into St Thomas and still get transport to JVD? I understand that there's a direct ferry on the weekends - that would be the cheapest option. How much time would I need if I were to take a ferry to Tortola and then another to JVD?...What would a watertaxi cost?....Thanks everyone -C
What is the best way to get to Virgin Gorda from St. Thomas?
I want to leave Tortola for San Jose, Costa Rica (by any means) on February 12 or 13, 2011. Trying not to come back through U.S. Any one have any suggestions or referrals?
What time is the mall and shopping stores open on Sundays?
We will be arriving in Tortola at 7:30 am on a NCL cruise. We have 14+ people in our group and are looking for a charter to the baths that leaves about 8 am or so. Speedy & Smiths ferry services do not depart until 9 am. We need to be back to the ship by 2:30 & would like as much time there as possible & not have to stay with a tour group.
Taking a one-day cruise with the wife and kids. I have been to Jost and love it but want to hear others opinion of which you would choose for a one-day excursion.
I am planning a cruise with a day stop in Tortola, and i would like to visit Virgin Gorda. Since there will be probably many tourists who want to do the same tour, i would like to know what is the best way how to secure a participation on this tour - because i dont know if there is a limited capacity of these tours. Is it possible to book the tour via the cruise line prior the beginning of the cruise? Or is it better to take a ferry from Tortola to Virgin gorda instead of an organized tour ? Is it possible to book the ferry some days before the departure day? Thanks for every advice
My wife and I will be staying at Rhymer's in July- I would love to hear comments good or bad and what important items we would want to pack that we may not consider..
Hello, please help me - i am finding a good and cheap hotel in Tortola for a week, ideal for a family with small child. I prefer a hotel on some nice beach, with snorkeling and water sport opportunities (cayacs, paddle boats) , with a grocery and good cheap restaurants close to it. I dont know if Tortola is ideal spot to such vacation, because i have found that: - many hotels are secluded and a car is necessary (but i dont want to drive there, because there is left-sided driving and what i have heard also dangerous) - prices in restaurants are very high there. What about taxis, are they expensive, if i use them daily ? Can i just call some taxi from hotel, or just catch on the road? Whats the average prices in an average restaurant there? Thank you for every information
My boyfriend and I are planning a week-long trip to the BVI's over Memorial day. We've been to St. Thomas and St. John, taken a boat tour around some islands in the BVI's, but I have no idea what island to stay on, resorts, best activities to do, etc. I would appreciate any guidance. Thank you, in advance.
I am arriving on NCL Dawn cruise on Tortula. The snorkel trip to the baths is sold out. Are there local tour providers at the dock that will take you to the baths for snorkeling?

We are planning a trip for 2 couples. We like Fischers Cove and Guavaberry Spring Bay. Has anyone been to either lately? How was it. Which is better?
How much is the ferry from Trellis Bay to Virgin Gorda? Is it the North Sound Express? Also, how much is a cab for two from Fischers Cove to the Baths? Thanks, Sandra
My husband and I are taking a big vacation before starting a family. We are looking for a great beach and very clean and nice room and a massage would be nice too. I was set on either Cap Juluca in Anguilla or St. John but then I read these great reviews of Virgin Gorda. Any comments that I'm making the right decision or not? And any advise on resorts? I'm visiting in October 08.
Hi! My husband and I are traveling to the Virgin Islands in July. I thought it was time that I book our rental car. There are so many to choose from....Can anyone recommend some that are reputable? Thanks a million! :-)
Does anyone know the price range about how much it would cost to rent a 1 bdrm apartment on the main turtle dove island or other island in the BVI, I would like to stay 6 months but I know the hotels would be too costly renting by the week, or is it even possible to rent an Apt on the islands. Also is the cost of food and just regular stuff really expensive on the islands? do they have a newspaper like with classified ads? thanks DG
Hi!! My husband and I are going to the Virgin Islands for 10 days in July. *2 nights in St. Thomas *4 nights in Tortola *4 nights in St. John We want to rent a car on each island. We also will be taking day trips to other BVI while on Tortola. Do we rent cars on these islands too??? What is the best way to do this? We will fly into STT airport, but other than that, should we try to rent from the ferry docks? I just can't seem to get my brain around all these car rentals. Thanks for your help! :-)
Can someone tell me the best way, cheapest and fastest way by ferry, to get from St. Thomas to Jost Van Dyke? Thanks.
Our family of 4 would like to find a condo or apartment for Christmas week, 2007 in Jost Van Dyke. Any suggestions on a place that is reasonable to sleep 4? May be a second family of four to join us, any suggestions? Thanks.
Hi!! This may be a silly question. Can you jet ski from Tortola to Virgin Gorda or from Tortola to Jost Van Dyke? Thank you!! :-)
Hi! My husband and I are planning a trip to the Virgin Islands in June/July 2008. We are flying to St. Thomas and plan to spend a couple of days and then on to Tortola for a week. What do you think of this plan? Day 1 - fly to St. Thomas; explore Day 2 - ferry to St. John; explore St. John for the day Day 3 - explore St. Thomas; ferry to Tortola Day 4 - explore Tortola Day 5 - ferry to Virgin Gorda Day 6 - ferry to Jost Van Dyke Day 7 - explore Tortola Day 8 - ferry to Peter Island Day 9 - ferry back to St. Thomas; fly home Here are some questions: *Has anyone stayed at Pavilions and Pools on St. Thomas? *Has anyone stayed at the Long Bay Beach resort on Tortola? *Should we rent a car the entire time, or just rent one for a day on each island that we visit? Thanks so much for answering my many, many questions. I look forward to hearing your suggestions. :-)
What is best way to get to Bitter End from St. Thomas airport?
We are considering taking a ferry (Speedy's?) from St. John to Virgin Gorda. Can anyone tell me: Where does the ferry port? Where do we clear customs? Is there transportation to and from the Baths (or the top of the hill above the Baths)for 4 people? We have taken this trip while on cruises before but it was all pre-arranged. Thanks so much in advance. My google searches have left me without answers.
Last July 2006 I chartered a Logoon 440 for 13 days and had a wonderful time. We are returning in Dec 2007 and have a few questions; 1) Is foxy's where we want to be for New Years Eve? How soon do we need to get there for good anchorage? 2) How crowded is it, realley? Compared to July 3) Any place to totally avoid 4)any tips on how to avoid crowds?
My wife and I are wondering how other people normally make it to Virgin Gorda from Canada or the US? I know some popular routes are to fly to SJU then hop on a small Cessna from Cape Air or something over to VG. Another route would be to fly to STT then ferry to VG. What method do you use? Trying to save some money here.. So far the least expensive I have found from here (Calgary, AB Canada) is: Calgary to Ft. Lauderdale (FLL) r/t449Cnd; Cheap hotel near FLL airport, then SpiritAir flight to STT and then Ferry to VG. All of that w/o the ferry is ~$890 per person. Is there another way we can do this cheaper? The 2nd least expensive would be to buy 2 one-way tickets. Is that allowed? One-way to STT then another one-way ticket from there back to Calgary. Thanks!
My wife and I are heading to Virgin Gorda and were thinking of reserving a private villa at Nail Bay for a few nights. Before we put money down, what are your suggestions? Looking for a private villa, private pool, short walk to the beach where we can have good snorkeling from shore. Thanks!
