Is there a decent cafe in Christchurch please?

      Christchurch Apr 19, 2013 at 10:42 AM

There used to be an American themed one with a jukebox but I dunno if that exists anymore. Can you recommend a decent cafe that isn't too expensive? Many thanks.

Good accomodation in the Lake District

Lake District National Park May 7, 2013 at 3:01 PM

      Hi everyone,

I will be visiting the lake district with my family for about three nights at the start of June (We have a 3 year old and an 8 month old)

Can anyone recommend some excellent accomodation near any of the lakes? We visited Bowness-on-Windermere briefly last year and were enchanted.

Budget is a consideration & self catering is fine, but our main desires are cleanliness, scenery and hopefully the likes of a rustic log fire!

      Thanks for your help folks.

      Greg.

      London to Marlow

      London May 14, 2013 at 3:49 AM

I am planning on travelling from St:Paul's tube station to Marlow. The national rail is advising me to reach Paddington by tube, and continue the journey by train via Maidenhead. The trouble I am facing is that the train changes are rather closely placed (5 min!). Would it be safe then to buy a anytime day return ticket from PAD to Marlow (and use Oyster for the tube leg)? Does it make sense to book it in advance (which means I have collect it in the PAD station)? What about bus services?; Google maps are providing me a few suggestions, but appear to be a slower option. Comments greatly appreciated!

I am hoping to use the park & ride and catch the tram to the Don Valley stadium - but it is not clear what the cost will be. I would really appreciate if someone can clarify this. The tram site says it is £3 return or I could get a day travel ticket for £4.00. Another site says the fare is £4.50 and I have to purchase the ticket from a machine in the car park? There was also something about a family travelcard for £6.50 - can 2 adults travel on this without children in the family?
Also one person travelling with us has a UK concessionary travel pass - is this valid from the park and ride for free travel?
Thanks in advance for any information.

Or is Bristol itself a nice city to live in? What are the names of the areas where you would get professionals/families/not too studenty? Or as mentioned, the names of any nice little towns or villages nearby but with good direct bus/train links to the centre of Bristol. Thanks for any help!

What about the cost to "come in " in the clubs? Last year i have been in the south, in Bournemouth, the accomodation it wasn't cheaper but the cost of the nightlife was good, 1/2 pouds for "come in" and only in the weekend,so also the cost of the drinks was good of our local standards. I need any useful information about Bristol clubbing nightlife. thanks
