Where can a couple of single 50something girls go while in Brissy for the weekend?? Know about the StoryBridge Hotel and the Casino but where else maybe on a Saturday afternoon where there's other baby boomers? Someone once mentioned the Rowers? Does anyone know this?
I think the Rowers you are referring to is (well WAS) City Rowers which was a pretty popular spot on the river a few years back. It isn't there anymore but there are heaps of other places in the City and the Valley that would probably suit you. These range from pubs to licensed cafes on the streets in the mall. Probably the best thing to do is just wander in and out of the many pubs, etc and just get a feel for the overall atmosphere and either stay or wander straight back out! Other suggestion is over to South Bank and check out the art gallery/museums/etc. There are restaurants but sometimes it can be a bit boring and dead for socialising but very relaxing for looking around. Hope that helps.

There's a club above central station in Brissy. We of the generation X refer to it as the 'club of the lost souls!'. Its a 40s+ bar/club. Give that a try. If you into something a bit more pubby give the Brecky Creek Hotel or Normanby a go.
