    • Winterfest

      Salzburg May 16, 2013 at 9:10 AM

I just found some limited information online about Winterfest. We will be in Munich in December and are planning a day trip to Salzburg. One of our travelers is an experienced juggler and might enjoy something like this. Is it an "open" sort of things, where you can wander the tents, or do you only purchase tickets for a specific show and there's only one thing going on at a time? From the English portion of their website it was somewhat difficult to be sure. Any guidance would be appreciated it. Opinions on whether it's worth it for the money are much appreciated as well.

    • Munich to Seefeld daytrip + another town?

Seefeld in Tirol 5 hours ago

I will be travelling from Munich to Seefeld in December and I am wondering if I should make a stop at Mittenwald or another little town along the way? Or should I just spend the whole day in Seefeld?
      Any advice will be appreciated!

      Purchasing train tickets?

      Hallstatt Yesterday

I am arriving to Hallstatt via bus, so I'm assuming they're dropping me off downtown. I am planning on staying in the city for a couple of hours and then taking a train to Vienna. Few q's

      - Any place in the city to leave luggage?
      - Any place where I could buy train tickets, or should I just take the boat accross and buy the tickets on the other side?
      - Is the train station in Hallstatt manned? Can I buy tickets there on the spot (on a Saturday afternoon) or do I need to buy them in advance on the internet?

      thanks!
      Carlos

I cannot find this street on the map but I noticed the 20th dosctrict is next door to 9ith district which is where we are staying, next to Franz Josef Bahnhof. Is it possible to get a tram or other transport from Franz Josef Bahnhof to the 20th district and get near to Buchmann's office on Schachnerstrasse, where we will not be walking too far?Any help gratefully received. Bad weather?

      Hallstatt May 18, 2013 at 4:16 AM

Hi, we are going to Hallstatt in a months time, but when I checked the weather forecast it showed that it probably will be raining in this part of Europe. I know weather forecasts are not reliable in this sense - 30 days ahead, let alone the climate change, etc. - but I'm already thinking of backup plans - just in case :) I was wondering whether it would still be possible to go up to the salt mine and/ or ice cave if it was raining. Do they operate the funicular in such weather coniditons? I understand that on rainy days there is no point in going up to the 5 fingers and the viewing point, but I hope that the caves still can be viewed by visitors. Could anyone confirm this, please? Or do you think it would be better if I asked the tourist center in Hallstatt via e-mail about these things? Thanks a lot for your replies in advance!

    • tips for traveling with a 2 year old

by khnoland Online Now Feb 17, 2011 at 6:19 PM

Hello, I am so glad I found this website! I am working at the Festival this summer, and I am bringing my 2 year old son with me. I hope to have someone accompany me to help with his care, but if that does not work out, I was wondering about possible sitters/nannys already in Bregenz and what the going rate is. I am also looking for possible rental of a toddler bed or crib and possibly some toys. I am staying 6 weeks, so I need items that will make my son feel comfortable. I am also on a tight budget, so I can not afford to be too extravagant. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. katherine
